Hello everyone

I have a questions re: your bridal bouquets.  my wedding planner quoted me $225 for an orange tulip and mini calla lilie bouquet.  does that sound right?  that sounds like way too much  but again I have no idea... .

I was quoted similarly for my bouquet, but I had a very specific flower which was only available from South America at the time of year of our wedding.  It was also for a fairly sizeable bouquet ... 12 inches I think.  I don't know if your flowers are in season but they sound very specific and possibly need to be imported.  You should ask your florist for why it is expensive, and also get an additional quote or two elsewhere to compare.  Calla lillies are expensive flowers as well.

As a side note, tulips don't really hold up very well.  I'm sure you have thought of this and are probably going for the somewhat curvy / droopy look, but just wanted to be sure you were aware before dropping a ton of money on a bouquet.

Mine's going to be about half that, but I am limited to flowers that are in season. I don't really mind what the flowers are as long as I get to pick the colors and it's not primarily roses.

Mine cost 130$ and had these in it:

    orange and gold Mokara orchids
    green cymbidium orchids
    Circus roses
    orange dahlias
    orange and red crocosmia
    bupleurum flowers
    green hypericum berries
    succulents.

Alyson’s bouquet was inspired by the colors of a Hawaiian sunset. Her florist used orange and gold Mokara orchids, green cymbidium orchids, Circus roses, orange dahlias, orange and red crocosmia, bupleurum flowers, green hypericum berries, and succulents.

calla lillies are one of the more expensive flowers, so that is probably about right.  Tulips tend to "wander" as well

I have to say, I had white tulips in mine and they stayed beautiful for 3 days.... All the roses got brownish by the end of the night (but who cares by then) and the tulips were perfect. My bm's had like a burnt orange in theirs and same thing! They stayed pretty for days. Just a thought =)
