Hawaii

Visitor to this board -- question regarding weather :)

Hi ladies!
I'm hoping some of you are local . . . I will be visiting Maui and Kauai from July 5-18. I know it's not uncommon for the forecast to show the possibility of rain because quick showers often move through. However, as I check weather.com . . . July 11-13 is not looking good! It basically just shows rain and no sun. I'm wondering if this is common, yet it probably really won't be raining (on my parade) all day, or, should I bummed about this forecast?   I realize I can't do anything about it, but I'm wondering if I should try and rearrange some of our plans to do some activities on different days?  Getting so excited, yet a little nervous about that forecast! Thanks for your help ladies! :)

Where are you staying on the islands? 'Cause that makes a huge difference. Also, I find that weather.com doesn't really predict Hawaii accurately.

If it makes you feel any better, we were supposed to land smack dab in the middle of a hurricane for our wedding. Our plane landed an hour or so before it was due to hit the Big Island, and by then the hurricane had been downgraded to a tropical storm, there were a few showers and it was sunny the next day!

I'd go with the flow - you're more than a week out and there's no point in changing plans yet, IMHO. What were you thinking of rescheduling?

I agree with Alyson. It just depends where you are. Also, sometimes the reports show really ominous looking forecasts but it really just means 20 minutes of showers followed by dryness. Like Alyson, our wedding had rain forecasted until about 3 days before, PLUS we had the tsunami scare 7 days before (not that it's weather). Everything still turned out ok. Hopefully everything works out, but hiking in the rain can be fun too :-)
