Anyone done the river kayak on Kauai?

Only two more months until we get to hit the islands up again, and we're starting to think about what we want to do. I really want to get a ton of kayaking in, but don't think we'll be strong enough to handle the Na Pali coast, so river kayaking (or kayaking on Maui) it'll have to be. Any reviews are deeply appreciated!

Never done it and I am no help...just wanted to pop in and say that it sounds intimidating!  At least the Na Pali coast part...ack!

Yeah, I was hoping we'd be in better shape for Na Pali, but it IS intimidating and I definitely don't want to get in over my head. I don't think my endurance (or my husband's) will be up to snuff, and, frankly, we spend most of our kayaking time on rivers and lakes - not fighting against the ocean.

Not at all related to kayaking, but we did a tubing tour with our group (about 12 of us) and everyone loved it.

totally did it a few years ago and loved it! We went at low tide so we were able to kayak through these tunnels in the mangrove trees by the waterside. so cool! I don't remember which company we went with, but we kayaked up the river, then got out and did a hike. The hike was so fun because we went to waterfall and a big natural swimming pool with a rope swing. I loved it!

Next time we go to Kauai (probably for our anniversary) I want to do it again with my husband. We just did a short hike on the Na Pali coast (to Hanakapiai Beach) but like you, I don't think we'd be fit enough to paddle the coast unless we seriously worked on our fitness over summer!
