Week recap!

Howdy ladies!  It's Friday, WOOHOO!  What's new, what's good?

It's been a pretty quiet week here.  Last weekend I spent 12 hours cleaning the master bedroom in the house.  I have FIVE BOXES of clothes to donate, and yet somehow the closet is still full.  Methinks I have a shopping addiction...yep, just a bit.  We're dog sitting this weekend for our pup's best friend so that should be lovely!

How's everyone else?

Ms. Brea, how's the close progressing?

Oh man has it been the week from hell! So, sorry this is going to turn into a rant :P

It's never fun going back to work after vacation, but this week was the worst. My DSLR decided to die while I was on vacation so I was planning on taking care of that Monday on my lunch break from work... until I got a flat tire. I had to get a ride to work so I couldn't leave on lunch to deal with my camera and was suddenly out $400 on new tires.

Wednesday, I took my camera on my lunch break to get diagnosed and they diagnosed it d. e. a. d. Dead. It's been sent off to Canon for repair which can take 3-6 weeks. I have a newborn shoot this weekend and a newborn shoot next weekend, and a wedding in 4 weeks, so that wasn't an option. I looked into rentals but it just didn't seem right to be spending $175 a day on a rental. I was planning on getting a newer second body after the wedding anyway as I sold my backup for a new lens (brilliant move...) so now I have a brand new Canon 7D. It's nice and I love it, but I'm not as happy or excited about it as I should be because of the unexpected cost.

Today is a really really annoying day at work and it's only about to get worse, but I'm happy because it's Friday and I've never been more pleased to know the weekend is right around the corner.

Saturday I have a newborn shoot in the evening (my first ever newborn! I've worked with 3-monthers but never a 1-weeker!) and in the morning I have a few errands to run, but it's a pretty low-key day. Sunday FI and I are going to Go Ape <--clicky link Which I am REALLY excited about!! :)

Tanq-- no news yet about the house. It under appraised by $20k which we found out about while we were on vacation, but we've appealed the appraisal and should hear back today about how that went. The appraiser took a lot of value off for stupid reasons, and only gave a small credit for the garage ($10k credit) when it's a $50k garage... so hopefully we can get it up at least a bit and then the sellers will lower the price. I'll keep you posted :) Thanks for asking!

Ah, gosh so many unexpected expenses, and big ones!  I would be absolutely stressed too, especially with the imminent wedding and the house payments.  On the flip side, you have a shiny new 7D.  That's what DH shoots and we love that thing.  SO MUCH.  YAY for another Canon lover :)  Somehow the battery charger for my 60D ended up in DH's camera bag instead of mine, so I haven't been able to turn mine on for a few weeks (UGH).  I told him he better bring it home this weekend, LOL.  I'm itching to shoot damn it!

Good luck on the house, too.  Hopefully the appeal comes through and you can get the seller to knock a little more off.

I had no idea that you were a photographer until earlier this week! Do you have any work I could see? (maybe this should be PMed instead of posted publicly?)

    I love my Canon(s)!

Its been a quiet week.  Just been getting the last of the bathroom demo cleaned out.  Spending time with poor neglected Maus and trying to get back into the routine of working out.  My legs feel like they are going to fall off.

Tomorrow I am going to a brunch with two other BM to brainstorm on ideas for a bridal shower and bachelorette party for a friend that I am a bridesmaid for this December.  Then off to shop for red wedges for my engagement shoot and then down to the nitty gritty of ripping out carpet and vinyl flooring in our house so we can get ready to put the hardwood flooring in.  Some where in there is me taking FI to go watch the last Harry Potter and perhaps visiting the MAC counter for tips and supplies.

Brea- Good luck on the house appraisal!

Tanq-12 hours of cleaning, wow that 's a LOT of woman power.

Haha, motoLyn you have your hands full.  Maus is welcome over anytime she needs extra lovin' and walks ;-)  Although you might not get her back, hehe.   I went for my first jog yesterday in months.  OUCH.

Brea, I mostly just do it as a hobby, but DH has done enough work to pay for gear which is cool.  All of it has been tabled for about a year due to wedding & life stuff, though :(  Sending you a PM with some links.

Ok week. Very busy at work. Major construction on 3 of my buildings, end of fiscal year audit starting, and big meeting in Sept. to plan.
@Brea I had to get new tires too but I actually knew it was time and started saving a few months back. I hate when it slams at you and they you have the extra cost. Newborns, wow, good luck with that. I don't think I wanted anyone around taking pics when it was a week out with my kids. Hectic times.
Not feeling so great today.  Think its the weather, hot and cold WA.  Sniffles and sore throat.  Have dress appointments tomorrow so hopefully its just allergies and much needed rest. Off work early and waiting for FI to go get movies and a pizza then I will hit the couch.
I do have some hush hush news that happened this week, and I will share because she (my daughter) will not visit the DW or HI threads.  My daughters bf is going to ask her to marry him on the 16th. At first FI and I were concerned because they are so young, but FI keeps telling me they are a strong couple and will do fine with the right support. Her BF will leave for Basic Jan. 31st. so I know they will want to be married before then. It will be crazy with two brides under the same roof.  She is a nanny and in school, but she has hinted that if he asked her she would like to stay with us until he is stationed.  Right now the only anxiety I have is when this young man talks to her father.  Those of you in CA will probably hear him yell.  Anyway, maybe thats why I'm so tired. LOL

It's been a busy busy week at work! And for some reason it drives me to the knot boards as an outlet. lol. We hired a new staff person and I can already tell she's going to make a great addition! It's also nice that it's going to take off lots of the burden off of me. Especially on the things that I'm just not built to do very well.

WR - My bachelorette weekend was so much! We went wine tasting in temecula. Did a pole dancing class (super fun) and spa day on Sunday! I would say it was perfect! Working on our videographer contract. Thanks to dianalyn for the suggestion. We're going to go with SVP Photography thanks to you! I'm picking up my veil today. And hopefully working on tons of DIY project that I've been procrastinating on! Next week is the bridal shower and I can't wait! I need to buy hostess gifts this weekend. Can't believe the countdown is on!

Brea - i truly hate unexpected purchases! Sorry to hear about the stress. But I'm sure the newborn photo shoot will be fabulous and your new camera will be worth it!
Tanq - I really need to do some cleaning too this weekend but I truly can't imagine 12 hours. I think I can do 2. lol.
FSForever - That's such fun news! Exciting you get to share all this with you daughter!
Moto - Hope you post shots of the red wedges for us! Love fun shoes!
KJE - Hope you guys have fun!
