Looking for Destination Wedding Photographer

I am from California, but having a destination wedding ceremony in Oahu in March. I am looking for a rather inexpensive (Under $800) wedding photographer who is only needed for about an hour or so. I will only be there for a week after the ceremony, so I would need to be able to have a CD of wedding photos to bring home to print out for my wedding reception 2 weeks later.


Does anyone have any recommendations?

There are sooo many photographers on Oahu...these are the ones that i looked at: Frank Amodo, Shaun Star, Visionari/Deluce and my videographer ARIA studios has a photog as well.  I believe Joanna Tano now lives on Oahu and comes highly recommended.  HTH! J. :-)

Hm, are any of those going to have a package under $800?  I think Shawn, Frank, Visionari, etc all start in the thousands.  I suppose some might be willing to do just 1 hour for $800 though.

Not sure how other Photographers do it, but ours won't release the CD of images for 1 year (from the date of wedding). We got our "sneak peek" 1 week after the wedding, but JUST got all the photos yesterday (1 month after wedding).
Just something else to consider...make sure they all know that's what you want up front.

melmac - good point.  My best friend's photog was like this too...so weird.  Negotiate this upfront -- many of the bigger names will not be able to get you the full set of photos in 2 weeks, but some can get you a subset.

Right...but if they have no weddings booked for that day i am pretty sure they would be willing to do an hour in that price range. HTH! J. :-)

I looked at a bunch and on the more affordable end try Mike Pham or Pinky. Because they are individuals they may be more flex. We are doing 6-8 hours above $2000 so I get for 1-2 hours you can get it under $1000.
