How much time should I give myself at the DOH for the marriage license?

Aloha friends,

Just wondering if anyone knows how long it takes to get the Marriage LICENSE at the Hawaii Dept of Health.  I know that they process it right there and then when you appear with all your i.d's and information but does anyone have any idea how long the wait is, line up wait?

Are you working with a coordinator?  On Maui, there are license agents where you can set an appointment time with minimal wait.  I'm not sure if that applies everywhere, but we had an appointment for ours -- it was just a lady in Kihei that had a home office.  30 minutes total for the entire meeting and we left with the paperwork we would sign after the ceremony.

We set up an appointment time too and it took us about 30 minutes to get through the paperwork.

We set up our appointment with the same woman in Kihei that Tanq mentioned, and we filled out the paperwork and scanned & emailed it to her ahead of time, so it should be pretty quick.

I'm going down to the office in honolulu after we fly in, our officiant is meeting us there to get the license. They have furlough fridays just an FYI so be sure you fly in early enough to take care of it. I freaked a little bit knowing we fly in on a thursday afternoon, but I think it'll be ok.

we got there right before closing, didn't have to wait and it only took 10 minutes! super fast

Thanks ladies for the tips.  I'm still in the beginning stages of the planning but I was a little worried about the fact that I'll most likely only have one day just before the wedding day to go to the DOH in Honolulu and get the marriage licence...since they're closed on the weekends.  But it seems like it's a pretty easy and fast process so I feel more at ease knowing that it only took 30 mins for you guys.  I guess I was expecting it to be like a long wait like at typical DMV places
