The Plantation House

First of all; thanks so much to everyone who is posting all the great information on here!  I would be so lost without being able to read and learn from all the experiences.

So we're planning for Maui sometime next May and I think we're getting closer to chosing a venue.  We are interested in The Plantation House because it seems like one of the only places that offers the option of staying later than 10pm for the reception.  Does anyone have experience with this venue?  Does anyone know if Merriman's or Gannon's allow music and dancing later than 10pm?  We're not crazy party animals but 10 seems like it would be a bit too early to end the reception.  Any thoughts or suggestions?

I'm also in love Olowalu Plantation house....but again it seems like we would have to end our party early?

    Hi!  We're using the Plantation house in June, but for breakfast after our beach ceremony.  I will certainly post a review after that if you can wait that long :)

    Miltran, where are you located? Usually people from the East Coast are ready to crash at 10pm due to the time difference/jetlag. Just something to take into consideration!

    We have people coming from the UK, and this is exactly why we're doing morning/breakfast!!

    We are getting married at Olowalu, we are having an after party at a club/bar afterwards since we need to close at 10pm.

    If you mean the Plantation House in Kapalua, I had a crappy experience with their food when I was there for a lunch, but their actual location is nice (if you discount poor service and luke warm noms).

    Thanks for the feedback:)

    The breakfast idea sounds great!  We will have guests flying in from all over Canada so definitely something to look into.

    Kaesha, I've been seeing VERY mixed reviews about The Plantation House so I really appreciate your comments.  I think our search for the perfect venue continues......

    For now, we're heading out on vacation and have agreed to a "no wedding planning" rule during that time, hahaha.

    If it makes your searching easier, we (and half of our guests) flew in from Canada, and the other half flew in from the UK, everyone was still jet lagged, so a 10 pm shut down actually worked out perfectly... especially if you have an outdoor wedding. The sun takes a lot out of you!

    Hi ladies!
    I think my FI and I are also getting married at Olowalu, we are close to locking down a date.  One concern we had was transportation for the guests, as we will be having an open bar and all of our guests will be out of towners.  We are probably going to have 50 or less.  Did any of you provide transportation for your guests? If so, how did that work out?
