Well ladies, I am happy to report back that all the drama from the last few weeks has been solved and is done! My aunt & uncle ended up having to pull out as she is in the Guard and just found out she will be deploying overseas soon, so that evened up our numbers and saved us from going over 50 which would have cost a ton. And no worries, she is not deploying anywhere dangerous, thank goodness!
Other than that - I was in bed on Thursday night and at 1am we had someone knocking on our door. I was scared to death cause no one ever comes to our door and even more so when I heard my Mom's voice. I was instantly scared something bad had happened and jumped out of bed to find my BF & MOH from Wisconsin standing in our doorway! I was so suprised and excited to see her since it's been a few years, but no matter how long we go between seeing eachother, it's always so easy to pick back up right where we left off, she is such a great friend! Not only that, but she has severe fears of flying and she not only flew up here for my shower but is flying from WI to Maui for us!!
So I took off Friday from work and she was able to be there for my final dress fitting. I was so excited that I completely forgot to take any pictures (awful, how could I forget?!?), but girls - it's awesome! I love it, the sweetheart neckline looks great and it fits perfectly! So, my girl is now at her home in a closet at my parents house. I am dying to go try it on every day!
On Saturday was my shower, and it was fabulous! My FMIL made chicken lettuce wraps, low-fat pot stickers, and a bunch of little appetizer stuff - it was SO good! You would never have guessed they were all super low-fat - I could drool just thinking of them right now! The cake was super good, and we got a ton of great gifts. And ladies - I had no problems acting excited! Once I got over the awkwardness of opening the first few presents it was easy to be excited cause everything was great!
Early, early Sunday morning (4am) we had to take my MOH to the airport and while it was sad to see her go, it was great to know that in 5 weeks we will all be in Maui together!
Overall, I had an amazing day and I felt so, so loved. I just can't believe people had been planning this suprise for months, and put so much work into making me happy. I never thought I would cry at my shower, but I was overwhelmed with love and I couldn't even help it. I hope all of you feel the way that I felt this weekend when your showers roll around - it was really awesome!
