I wanted to know which catering service did you ladies had?  

Any tips of buying my own drinks?

We looked at Stella Blues, Celebrations and Aloha Catering Events and we chose Aloha Catering.

Their food is amazing and it is 5 star service. Both the chef and service staff came from Spago so they are all about amazing fresh from scratch food and world class elegant service.

As for drinks, we are buying the alcohol but they are advising us on what and how much to get and then they are providing bar service also

We also used Aloha Events, and do agree they were fabulous.  The one bit that was most disappointing was the butterish course which was mediocre instead of stellar   I absolutely agree about their staff -- Michelle runs a tight ship and I cannot tell you how much we appreciated her very organized, methodical style in the few days before the wedding.

Kaesha used Celebrations and always raves about her food -- I am jealous and wish I was at her wedding!   Cafe O'Lei is super popular and on the more reasonable price end.  I've also heard of Soup to Nuts but I don't know much about them at all.

I had a friend who got married at Olowalu use Cafe o'Lei they are super friendly and have great reviews.  I was myself going to go with Soup to nuts but after talking with  my WC she suggested I talk to Food for the Soul and after talking with Tina from there I was sold on them.  You have so many choices, just contact them and see what their rates are and who you connect best with.

We are using Cafe O' Lei! The tasting we had with them was AMAZING, and Dana, the owner, and her staff are soo great to work with and so sweet!

Food For the Soul catering is who we used and they are FAB!!  Tina and Rob are absolutely a joy to work with and their food and entire setup was fantastic.  I would highly recommend them!

We used Tina from Food for the Soul. The food and service was AMAZING! We were going to bring in our own alcohol but for the few hundreds of dollars of savings it just wasnt worth the hassle to pick up the booze ourselves since we had so many guests and lots that like to drink;). With a smaller guest count it may be easier.

We are using Three's catering, and so far, dealing with them is good.  We will see in 2 months;)

Costco was a no brainer for us to purchase the liquor for our 2 bartenders!

We used Food for the Soul. It was the best food I had while on Maui and they were cooking for over 80 people. Tina gave us a list of alcohol and we picked it up from 

CostCo, saving a couple hundred dollars. We filled two cars full, and though I wasn't thrilled to be spending a few hours the day before my wedding pillaging CostCo (the day before the SuperBowl) we we saved a couple hundred dollars and also picked up all the alcohol for the Welcome BBQ. 

Also, for any of you Olowalu ladies, check out Leoda's PIe Shop across the street. The handheld apple pies are sooooo good. We got sandwiches for lunch from there the day of the wedding, and it was really good, too.

I did use Celebrations - they're spendy, but oh so good. Honestly, it's been 2½ years. People are still talking about the cake, the hoisin short ribs... ahhh, I could go on and on. Food was really, really important to me. I love to eat, and I would have felt SO badly if my Their service was outstanding and their organization was one of the reasons I didn't feel the need a DOC. We even coordinated it so we had a server meet us at the end of the aisle with champagne flutes filled with lychee bellinis. AMAZING.
