Old Coordinator

I was really unhappy with the old coordinator and am glad that I got it all taken care of. Even if it wasn't on great terms.

Re: Old Coordinator

  • Sorry to hear that. I totally know how you feel...that's why we fired our previous coordinator...

  • I'm so sorry you've had to deal with that :(
I'm sure things will get better once you get a new coordinator. Good luck!

  • Yay for March 26 weddings!!  But boo for your sucky WC.  Is it too late to find a new officiant on your own??

  • So sorry for your crappy WC experience =( I'm no wedding pro in any sense...but I know you're wedding date is coming up soon, maybe if you have time to check out officients directly and can book (I booked mine direct, not working with WC) and have time to cancel with a refund with your WC...you should go that route. You might have to do the beach permit and insurance on your own, but if you don't want the leis, commemerative certificate and the other stuff then it might be a more suited option to go direct.

  • Ya, I'm tyin to look into that right now.
  • We decided we didn't need the extras either and just needed the permit, and officiant.
Rev. Tino has been easy to work with and he takes care of the permit for you.
On a good note your almost there.
  • It sounds like your wedding coordinator did not make it clear to you about Hawaii's state requirements on weddings. The company I am using, Bridal Dreams Wedding Company, has this  on their website that your marriage license will be $60  (in person cash) or $65 online to the Department of Health. This is the information they provide:

Please take note of three important terms and their meanings:
Marriage License Application: A one-page form you must fill out and bring to the Department of Health (or Health Dept. Agent), along with your ID's and $60.00 processing fee (cash only), to receive your Marriage License.
Marriage License: The Dept. of Health will give you a MARRIAGE LICENSE, which you need in order to get married in Hawaii. Bring that with you for the Minister to sign at your Wedding.
Marriage Certificate: The Dept. of Health will mail you your official MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE after they process your Marriage License (signed by the Minister) following your Wedding.

Your official Marriage Certificate will take a few months to arrive by mail. You may order an official Marriage Record by filling out the "Green Form" (Marriage Records Request). The copy arrives faster than the original. The cost is $10.00 (money order when ordering by mail, or cash in person).

The Hawaii Dept. of Health is open from 8:00am to 3:00pm.

Bring your IDs with you, and the $60.00 fee (cash only) or pay $65.00 online.

All commercial activities, such as Beach Weddings, must obtain a Permit to operate on State-owned beach property.

Proof of Liability Insurance and Tax Map information showing the area of activity are needed to obtain the required Permit. Be sure to plan your Hawaii Wedding with a Wedding Planner such as Bridal Dream Wedding Company to ensure you have a Beach Wedding Permit.

BRIDAL DREAM HAWAII obtains Beach Wedding Permits for our Beach Weddings held at the following locations which are regulated by the DLNR (Dept. of Land & Natural Resources):

Please add $25.00 to add a BEACH PERMIT to your Wedding Package.

Be sure to check with any Wedding Company you choose whether they obtain Beach Permits from the DLNR.

Hope this helps clarify the confusion.

    Anniversary
