Back from Maui, and married! Everything went great and the whole night I couldn't believe it was MY wedding :-)

Nicole Schindler Wedding Coordinator at Gannons: Do not recommend

Hair/Make up by Sisters and Co: Fail. Do not recommend

Anna Kim Photography: Haven't seen many pictures yet, But I highly recommend! 

Maui Banyan in Kihei: A+ condo (VRBO.com) great location, etc.

So sorry to hear that some things weren't very good but I'm happy to hear the venue and photographer were awesome, which IMO are the two most important things

Welcome back!  Can you share more about Nicole and Sisters & Co?  I'm so sorry to hear you had negative experiences there.  But as Brea said, venue and photo are far more important, and from what I can see in the preview, you still looked gorgeous!

Also...your dress is AWESOME!  You rocked it.

Welcome back and Congrats! I would love to hear more about your wedding and pics for sure.  We will be at Gannon's and based on past reviews I have decided against using their WC.  Would love to hear why you felt they failed.

Congratulations!  Beautiful pic! I have been talking with Susan at Gannon's so far and she seems great but am also looking to get an outside WC so it sounds like from your post that would be a good idea... but just to know what went wrong with Nicole? Glad to hear Gannons is A+... my friend just went to look at it but I will not be able to scout. DId you do the wedding knoll or the lookout point? Still debating back and forth on those two... congratulations again!

Hi there. Yes I will start with Nicole. She took 2-3 weeks to respond to my e-mails/phone calls each time I would have to call back or e-mail again, requesting to be contacted. She charges 20% of everything you book... which I think is really ridiculous since I found most of the things on my own! Several things I wanted, and she couldn't find, but I DID find those things- and I don't even live on Maui... so that is unacceptable in my book to have to pay someone for the work I did. So basically she never responds, she doesn't provide any type of outline or anything to keep you in the know, she promised me a wedding day timeline and never gave it to me. I also hired her for *day of* as well, and she left directly after my ceremony, so people were clueless when or how the reception/cake/dance/everything else was supposed to go... which is what I paid her a lot of money to do.  I received no apologies from Gannon's despite my Maid of Honor filing a complaint. 

Gannons itself is breath taking. It is absolutely stunning. The wedding knoll is perfect... you have a panoramic view of the ocean and Molikini Crater. 

Sisters and Co sent out someone to my condo to do hair and make up. I sent a picture of how I wanted my hair. She showed up without the picture and said she couldnt remember how I wanted my hair done. I showed her my copy of the picture. A simple curly hair do, pulled back and pinned away from my face. Her curling iron blew up, almost caught my hair on fire. She did not get my hair curly, she basically made it wavy, with a huge ugly curl above my forehead and a flat top... it was horrible. My bridesmaids made fun of my hair after the wedding was over... we had a good laugh. But it is truly something that makes me sad to think about. The make up was not my style, and I tried to explain to her and she didn't really get it. She applied my blush in huge circles below my cheekbones which I just don't think is attractive. She insisted on putting my eye liner on the top only and I requested both top and bottom, this is how I like it... but she didn't... so I had to do it myself after she left. My bridesmaids said the make up wasn't so bad, just not my style. 

Gannons is amazing. My wedding was so perfect I couldn't believe how lucky I was. Anna Kim is an amazing photographer, and I am super excited to see the rest of my pictures!

Thanks for the advice! Reviews really do help, sorry about your "fails" as well though.  Had you ever worked with Susan or had contact with her? Sounds like she is just the general event coordnitor for the restaurant but that is who I have been talking to initially.  I am looking into getting an outside WC which from your experience sounds like a good idea... so glad you had an amazing day though!  That's what really counts!!!

Wow! So sorry to hear about your bad experiences! But, I've got to say, I'm really impressed with your ability to laugh it off and still have an amazing day.  Hope you get some photos soon, I'm sure they'll be amazing!
