NWR - photographer in Maui for family portrait recommendations?

Hi - my DH & his ENTIRE family are traveling to Maui in July, and I wanted to purchase a photo shoot for the whole family as a Mother's Day gift to my MIL. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

  • Joanna Tano is great!
  • I worked with Kim Aihara for my wedding and Joanna Tano was her second shooter. They are both great photographer and so nice!

  • Anna Kim does a lot of that, you can see it on her blog.  I can't say enough good things about her technique - she is a master with light and she really thinks about the photo she's taking and how it's composed.  She's not inexpensive, but if it's in your budget they'll be the best photos taken of that family in their lives.

If you want someone more affordable, try Hula Girl Photography.
  • Anna Kim is an amazing photographer and she does familiy portraits quite a bit in addition to weddings.

  • I've used Joanna for wedding, TTD and anniversary shoot. She's awesome. We played in the Iao River for our anniversary shoot. =D

  • We usesd Natalie Brown for family pictures a few years ago and loved her - and her prices are pretty reasonable.  The only reason we didn't use her for our wedding pictures is because she was due to give birth a day before our wedding!

  • I would recommend the photographers from Hawaii Wedding Productions. I LOVE their style and I already have them booked for my engagement shoot and for coverage on my wedding day. I'm pretty sure they do family portraits, too. You should definitely inquire about it. My girlfriend recently got her family pics done by them on her wedding day and they turned out great. I checked their website and it looks like they do charge a small "travel fee" to fly from Oahu to Maui, but I think it would be totally worth it! Hope this helps!
