Royal Lahaina HM

Been very busy with work and believe it or not FI has been pushing me this weekend to take a break and work on wedding stuff. I am so glad we decided to move the date or I would be a wreck right now. So here's my question for those of you that have stayed there or visited.

The second week we will be in Maui we have the Royal Lahaina booked for our HM. I booked it through Costco because they are giving great add ons with the room.  We upgraded the car to a convertible but we are getting ready to make a payment and FI is concerned that the room showing, ocean view, is just that and doesn't have a deck.  He really wants the deck and wants me to upgrade if the ocean view doesn't include it.  I need some views on this because upgraded is a pretty big fee and I am feeling that we are going to not be in the room enough to care if it has a deck or not. Any brides out there that can give me some insight?

We just got back from Hawaii.  We stayed in timeshare hotel/condo resorts.  In each resort we had a 1 bedroom with a full kitchen and living-room.  As we had the kitchen we usually ate at least 1 meal per day on our balcony.  If we were eating out all the time we may not have been in the room as much and consequently would not have used the balcony as much.

We didn't use our balcony that much. But ours was a mountain view.

It's nice to wake up to an ocean view, but why spend the extra money when you can easily walk down to the beach and enjoy it from there? The last few times we have gone, we've gotten partial ocean view and mountain view, not too bad and it didn't really bother us since we were always out and about... HTH!

Thank you ladies. I think the ocean view is just fine and I completely agree that we can just walk down to the beach.

We did the Costco package for our honeymoon at the Royal Lahaina. We did Ocean View, & had a nice view w/ a patio, the hotel was recently re-done & I loved our room. We really weren't in it a lot, but we did get our nightly Mai Tai & take it upstairs to our patio & watched the ocen. We looked towards the Sheraton I believe. It was nice. I wouldn't worry too much & definitely don't need to upgrade.
