Hawaii

What are your honeymoon plans?

Hi! My fiance and I have been working on the honeymoon!! Super fun. We are booking it a little bit at a time. We will be hitting up  Mamas Fish Housewhere we have a reservation for dinner... it looks so romantic and perfect.. then we are doing road to Hana and staying in Hana for a while by the beach...We want to have some romance time :-) Then we were thinking about heading to the other side of Maui (Napili Bay... Kapalua... or somewhere like that) where there are more tourist type things to do. Any suggestions on where to stay? Anyone else planning a post-wedding maui honeymoon??? I want to hear about other people's plans for their honeymoon!

We are staying on the island of Maui for our honeymoon and doing a full 7 nights on Maui.

We're first starting off on the south side for the wedding. The day before the wedding we're going snorkeling at the Molokini crater. The morning after the wedding we're driving the road to hana and staying one night at Hotel Hana. The next day we're hitting up Mama's fish house for a late lunch on the way to West Maui where we're going to stay for the rest of our trip. We're also doing a zipline tour and a helicopter tour while we're on the island and making a plan to drive up Haleakala and watch sunset.

We ahven't talked about it, though I think we both assume the rest of the week in Hawaii is it.  We've talked a bit about going somewhere the summer after, bot no plans yet

We only stayed on island 3 days after the wedding, much of which were spent entertaining friends & family that were still there.  Our actual honeymoon was 3 weeks in Latin America -- it was WONDERFUL!   My dream honeymoon was to go to the Maldives, but we just forgot to plan in time, OOPS.   Maybe for our 1 year!

We're getting married on July 1, 2012 - we're both locals from Oahu, so I'll probably take 3 days off before and after the wedding just to hang out with friends from out of town. But we won't be going on our honeymoon until Spring 2013 - to Sydney & Cairns, Australia - mostly due to vacation time we have at work and also so we could spend at least 2 weeks "Down Under"!

We will be putting our kids on a plane home the day after the wedding and spending 9 or 10 additional nights on the island, alone.  Can't wait. We don't really have any plans yet with the exception of my TTD shoot.  Planning on booking the HM in Jan.

Oh, I should mention.  If you are major foodies and don't mind splurging a bit for a meal, my favorite restaurant on the island is the Hali'imaile General Store.  Absolutely nothing near it, but so, so very worth it.

We will be staying on Maui for 4 more days after the wedding before we go to the Big Island and than Oahu. We will be on Maui for a total of 10 days.  What you have planned looks good.  I'd just make sure you go snorkeling at the crater and see the Old Lahaina Luau, too.  I'm liking your selection of going to Mama's since we are getting married there!

We're getting married in oahu, then going to maui for 5 days for the HM. Napili bay area. We'll do a snorkel/kayak tour, the Old lahaina luau, road to hana in a jeep (with our newlywed friends that are also going to be honeymooning there that week!)  Being lazy beach bums and relaxing with my husband! :)

I get so excited reading everyones posts about their honeymoon... I am tired of wedding stuff... I like talking about the honeymoon :-D Ha ha. It sounds like everyone is looking forward to some pretty nice adventures.... I am excited!!!

Does anyone use costco travel or... did anyone see that groupon for Lahaina Resort 5 nights today? We are trying to book our last 5 days of the honeymoon... in the Napili... Kapalua... Lahaina area... that way we will have hit up each side of Maui for at least 3 - 5 days... wedding in Kihei... staying in Hana for 3 days... and 5 days near Lahaina/kapalua/napili side of the island. That is the part I am trying to get ideas on where to stay... resort... condo... etc... Any advice is much appreciated!!!

    Happy honeymooning to everyone :-D
