50 days...

my oh my where has the time gone. I can't believe we are getting sooo close.  Everyone is getting excited. I have been so consumed with the planning that at times i forget that this REAL and will be happening to me.  Just put the deposit on our rings saturday, found my shoes...yeah...except when i got home i realized that they gave me the display model...so excited to find them i didn't even think to ask so now i have to wait to see if they can get the shoe from another store...if not i will purchase directly from the manufacturer...need to know in the next few days...just wished this was done...at least i don't need to go to montreal to go shoe shopping...just don't have the time. My mom finally bought her dress....i looks really great on her...my only issue is that she will wear an ivory bolero with it...doesn't really bother me i just don't want others to think its weird...not that i really care what other people say anyways. Anyhoo, way way past my bedtime...will get less than 4 hours sleep so hope everyone has a good week!

Sorry i ramble when i'm tired...lol. J. :-)

We're not too far behind you-- 69 days for us today! I know exactly what you mean though about forgetting that this is actually happening! It feels like this is just some make-believe, play-pretend, thing that I've been planning but it is real, we're getting married! I also haven't had anything to do for... about 3-4 months with the exception of invites and now that those are out I'm pretty bored and just waiting for the wedding.

I'm glad your mom found something to wear, that was a big struggle for both my mom and my FMIL. I wouldn't be worried about her wearing an ivory bolero-- no one will think anything of it!

Excited for both of you. FI said yesterday that he can't believe we are 10 mos out when it just seems like yesterday and we were 15. Time goes by so slow at first and then you just get busy. Can't wait to hear how it goes for both of you and to see pics. Keeps the rest of us going.
@Maui, completely understand on the rambling when you are tired. Sometimes I think I shouldn't even post because it may not make sense. Lol

I hear ya! Things are going crazy fast for me right now and I really am starting to feel like holy cow, this is really happening! I took my mom shopping last night for her dress, it's a little wild and not normally what she'd wear but it was the most flattering for her shape and it reminds me of a hawaiian sunset. 18 days!

WOW, is that all?  For both of you ladies?!  Time is flying -- this is kind of crazy.  I feel like not that long ago, *we* had 50 days left, but that was 6 months ago!  I can't stress enough -- try to enjoy these times.  The excitement definitely grows as the days count down, and it's such a magical experience, you don't want to miss a second of it stressing about anything that doesn't need to be stressed about.

Good luck with your shoes, chica!  And no worries about the ivory bolero.  My mom actually wore an ivoryish/champagnish dress with brown flowers, but she looked fabulous and felt great, and there was *no* issue standing next to a big white gown :)

Yay! Ladies, it's getting so close! I can't believe it! Right now I'm addicted to all tv and movies wedding related and they all make me tear up! I just watched Nick and Vanessa's wedding this weekend and I totally cried. I even got up at 4 am and watched Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding. I'm obsessed with all things wedding related.

Please post your shoes Maui! I'd love to see!

Also the ivory bolero will be beautiful for your mom and no one will notice. As long as your mom is comfortable and feels great in it than it'll be perfect! Where did she get the bolero? My mom actually had a dress made in the philippines when she was there in January and I was a little underwhelmed. And she kept saying oh it'll be nice if she adds a belt or a bolero. Then we were shopping at marshall's one day and I stumbled on a gold dress that was beautiful on her. It wasn't long like she wanted but I think it'll look nice.

Breaness - I'm in the same place! I haven't had much to do in the past few months and I think it's making me antsy. I surf the knot boards just to make sure I haven't missed anything. lol.

I'll post this here since y'all are so close to the wedding date.  sld posted this on the DW forum the other day and I wanted to be sure you didn't miss it:

Check with your insurance company on their policy for adding names NOW.  Sarah's and ours both had 30 day cutoffs -- you only are alloted 30 days from the wedding date to add a spouse to the medical insurance policy.  Past 30 days, you have to wait until the 2012 enrollment period (which means coverage starting on Jan 1).  We totally got screwed because it was about 45 days after the wedding (due to the AHR) before I had time to look into it, and now we can't add names until 2012.

You will also want to keep a copy of your signed marriage certificate before it is mailed in case you need proof of the nuptuals for this & other purposes.

Wow time is flying right by!  But I know that you ladies have it all planned out to the smallest details, so enjoy the days leading up to your wedding.  I can't wait to hear and see how it went!!!!  I just realized that even though 10 months sounds like a good amount of time when I really think about it, the weeks are going to fly right by.

Thanks for that addition Tanq.  I just found out mine is 30 or 35 days too.  It's the stuff like that that no one ever thinks of until it's too late

Great advice Tanq - future brides pay attention!!!  I wish I had known when we were in Maui, as we are now both screwed and can't add each other to our insurance because I have no copy of the license and we are at like 28 days right now.  I don't get why it takes so long, and they can bust out the 'furlough' excuse all they want - I work for the State (of AK) and here the licenses are valid and given to you at your wedding.  What a crock of *$%@ this is!!!!  ARGH!

Wow, I've been avoiding paying them for an early copy but if it's been almost 5 months for you, I think I might!  I want to get my name changed already!!

@Tanq, Thank you for that advice. We have already called to find out how to add me, ok we have some time, but we didn't ask how long we have to make the change.  Luckily I have the same insurance so I am thinking maybe not that hard to do.

Thanks ladies for all the well wishes and right back at y'all. I wish i was done but still working on paper stuff and ensuring that all my deliveries have arrived safe and sound on Maui. Still need to buy cloths, bathing suits and a suitcase or two. Making my last few purchases on Etsy. Need to order my shoes tonight...hopefully they are still open as the department store has no shoes in my size in Canada...go figure...but at least they will be new...well they better be...lol.  This is the shoe...they are much nicer in person.

Unfortunately, i think i will be busy up to the last minute but at least i will have 3 weeks in Hawaii to recoup...not a bad trade off.

My FI and I are considered common law so we are already on each others medical insurance...great perk...i was able to purchase new prescription glasses and sunglasses for the trip. Hoping all you married ladies get your certs soon...i think i'll pay the extra to get it expedited. J. :-)
