Ok, someone make the decision for me!!! Please!!!

Hi Ladies, I've been drivign myself nuts trying to decide if I want a ukelele player for our small beach wedding (total 9 people). I know this shouldnt be such a big deal, but I just cant decide but the clock is ticking. I've asked the question before on this board and always get mixed feedback on if it's worth it. I guess my two major concerns are 1. As peopel have stated on here, you cant really hear it anyway, you hear mostly the ocean 2. I dont want a big production for my wedding, we are already having a videorapher, trying to keep it simple but nice. So, thoughts???? Please help me decide!

  • I'm in the same position as you (minus the time factor). Maybe ask your videographer if the music will be heard in the video. If yes, that'd be a great keepsake and probably make it worth it in the long run. With such a small ceremony I'd hope everyone can hear it.

  • Personally, I'd go without.  The ceremony will be over so quick, I just don't think you'll even miss or notice it.

  • We aren't having music because most of the brides have said its hard to hear. Just figure its a costs that we could put somewhere else.
  • We had an ukulele player at our intimate wedding. Since he was playing close to the aisle where the groom was standing (my FI had a wireless mike provided by our videographer) you could definitely hear him play in the video. It was wonderful during the ceremony as well. You could also hear the sound of the ocean in the background, but ukulele added that special touch :)

  • Our minister played the ukulele, it was a nice touch when I walked in and when we walked out.  If you have a videographer and have microphones then they will probably pick it up for your video.

  • In your position I would go without, any videographer worth is salt can add the music in the background during editing. That's what we're doing. I had a good long chat with my consultant about this, and to my surprise she sugguested we pocket the extra money and have the music added to the video after the fact b/c it wouldn't cost us any extra. Our ceremony is about a 15min, 20 on the outside, affair so it wouldn't be all that worth it to us. Hope that helps, best of luck :-D

  • We had one and while we thought he was great, most of the people watching couldn't hear him because the waves/wind kinda carried the sound.  Probably not necessary.
