Wedding Gown Travel Bag

Hi Hawaii Knotties!
I was just wondering if anyone could suggest a good wedding gown travel carry-on bag? Something affordable but will keep my dress somewhat not wrinkled.
Thank you!

Did your wedding gown come in a garment bag?  Mine came in a full length soft fabric garment bag, and I asked for the original plastic wrapping it was shipped in to protect it from water damage.  To make it easier to carry through the airport, I bought a giant duffle bag so I could "roll" the entire garment bag (dress inside) into the bag for easy walking, and quick unrolling to hang in the airplane closet.  It arrived in great condition...didn't even need to press it for the wedding.

Mine came with a soft fabric garment bag and that seemed to work okay! I think yours should probably come with one as well. Can you call and ask your dress shop?

My friend said she used this garment bag and had no problems getting it on the plane as her carry on: http://www.luggage.com/Wally-Bags-759-X-WQ1016.html

She said she was able to get her dress and her husband's suit in there no problem.  I've ordered one, hopefully it will be here in the next few days, I can let you know how it is quality-wise if you're interested :)

Oh awesome! Thanks everyone! Great to know the fabric ones will hold up to travel. I just called the gown shop and they said they provide one.

Suwannee - I would love to know how you like your bag when it comes in :)

    Thanks!

The regular garment bag I got from David's worked just fine.

For those of you who just used the garment bag your dress comes in - did you attmpt to fold it in 1/2 when boarding or did you just carry it on full length? Anyone fly Alaska/Horizon Air with their dress?

I walked around with mine draped in half over my arm. The flight attendant took it and hung it up in the closet by the pilot. If there was no space I was just gonna tri-fold it and stick it in the overhead bin. It's fabric and resilient, not a piece of china! :) plus I got it steamed before the wedding so I wasn't worried about wrinkles.

My Wally Bag came in today - It's lightweight but durable, has a solid hanger clasp that makes the bag feel more solid up top, and it's water repellant which is nice because even though it isn't fully waterproof it's stil more protective than the garment bag my dress came in from David's. I won't get my dress back from alterations until Wednesday so I can't test the size of it until then but it seems really nice and if you want I can give a size update once I get the dress :)
