Double WIN! Hahaha good morning my fellow Hawaii brides. Mind my over cheerfulness, I am high on coffee since this past weekend was packed full of activity and I was dead tired this morning.
First off I found my dress, I had a appt. at a smaller bridal salon. My bridal consultant was fantastic. I felt much more comfortable with her. I showed what I liked and she pulled those dresses plus a couple more based on what I told her I liked and disliked. In total I tried on about 8-10 dresses. The second dress I tried on was a more Grecian goddess dress of chiffon over satin and as beautiful as that dress made me feel it was so heavy. The next contender was a rouched bodice with a sweet heart neckline that had a ballgown skirt. If I were to get that dress I would have taken some of the crinoline out of it to make it less poofy. That dress also had pockets but the dress that I eventually bought was this one: (sorry I don't have pictures, the salon doesn't allow photos to be taken)
It wasn't something that I had imagined that I wanted but when the consultant showed it to me I though oh what the hell why not and instantly my bestfriend/MOH, FI and I fell on love with the dress. I knew this was the one! The shoulder strap is removable, so I'm not going to use it, I can't pull off a one shoulder look. The flower on the bodice I might leave or take off and make a hair piece out of it. Afterwards the consultant let me try on some tea length gowns and we had a fun vintage fashion show.
Second I spent the rest of the weekend working on the house, first project was to demolish the guest bath, which FI and I did. Started at 9 am, had a lunch and dinner break and two trips to home depot. I got my own hammer and crow bar and got to rip and smash things out. We have everything bought except for the tub and are ready to build teh bathroom back up when the tub is decided. I am documenting the whole house remodel on a blog for FI's dad who lives in Denmark and any other family and friends that are interested in seeing what's going on. The link for the blog is in my signature below. I hope you enjoy reading it and check in every once in a while.
