May I borrow your language please - packing tips, what to wear, etc.

If any of you have shared the following information with your guest, I would really be grateful if you would be so kind as to share it with me.

I need to send an email to my guests with some basic information, including:

Wedding day (and all other event days) attire
Packing tips / hints / reminders

I'll probably also include
  • avg. temps
  • reminder schedule of events with start times
  • directions to events / addresses
  • contact numbers

Can you think of what I might have forgotten?  Of course it would be nice if some of this information was in a welcome bag at their hotel, but I'm just not sure that will happen.  Some of the information they'll definitely need to know before they travel too.

Even though we all have different ideas for what our guests should wear, I would be curious to hear how you worded it.

Thanks in advance from a scrambling bride!

  • So, this information was scattered all over the place. We included some of it as an insert with the invitations, some on the website, and the rest in the welcome package that went in the arrival bags.  Let me cut & paste what I can....

    And finally...

We didn't include any packing hints / tips.  Unless you have a really unique activity that requires something out of the ordinary, like maybe Keens for walking through rocky water, you should trust that your guests know how to pack.  We did suggest insect repellant for the wedding because the mosquitoes were vicious, but we just dropped OFF wipes into the welcome bags to make it easier for everyone.

As for attire, we had a good discussion about it a few days ago:

Here's the attire update we posted to our website:

Attire update — we've received a few questions recently and wanted share the information with everyone.  Please wear whatever you are comfortable in!  Anything you'd normally wear to a wedding would be fine and we don't have any theme or requirements. If it helps, here’s what we’ll be wearing at each of the events:

    Friday Welcome Drinks:

        Bride: tropical, long dress
Groom: jeans, dress shirt, and blazer

    Wedding:

        Bride: lululemon (LOL, I wish)
Groom: dark suit, tie, dress shoes

    Brunch and cruise:

        Bride: casual, knee-length dress
Groom: linen pants & a dress shirt

    Hope that helps!
