Anyone Shipping Lots of Stuff to Hawaii or Have Done This?

I am starting to sketch out the various tables I'll be having at the wedding:

- Guest check-in
- Photo booth
- Dinner tables
- Cocktail tables
- Dessert bar
- Drink bar

And then I realized I have a lot to ship! Vases will be the majority of it. Also shipping ribbon, birdcage. Gonna try to take the non-fragile items in a checked-in bin. Is that what you did, Tanq? I remember you mentioning it once. Yikes.

Anyone have experience shipping stuff for their wedding? How pricey can it get? I'm a bit worried now that I'm wanting to bring too much, but I'm trying to achieve a certain look...

Help! TIA!

Re: Anyone Shipping Lots of Stuff to Hawaii or Have Done This?

  • We shipped all or most of our stuff priority mail directly to our WC but most of the stuff wasn't fragile. We also shipped glass votives that we rented and the shipping was a ton but it was much easier than trying to travel with them as we wouldn't have wanted to check them as baggage anyway.

  • Why don't you just get what you need there at walmart, home depot or Costco, even check out some of the thrift stores for vases. That's what I'm doing, if I do run into certain specific items that I want that my family in Hawaii don't already have then I was just going to ship it to my sisters house less of a headache. Even putting FRAGILE all over a box doesn't mean that the workers are going to treat it that way at the airport. Good luck.
