Nail Salons & Undergarments...

Hi girls, odd subject line I know. But those are my 2 questions this week.
1- Where did you go to get your nails done on Oahu? I am looking to treat the ladies to mani/pedi's & I didn't find a place while I was there last year that I liked really well. Any suggestions? (I know a lot of girls want "day spas" but I'm just lookin for nails)

2- Undergarments for day of. Did most of you buy your bras from your dress shop? Or what brands did you think worked well for strapless dresses? And are good with sweat. B/c I'm thinking I'm gonna be a little warm & want to get advice on this topic. Weird I know...I'm just thinking of heading to Macy's then on to Victoria's Secret to check the selections. But any brands or suggestions are helpful.

Again, odd topic I know. But that's what the boards are for, right?

I am free-boobing-it as I like to call it   I feel like with a bra under, I'll get hotter.  The alterations lady is just going to put some pads in there just in case.  A lot of girls get the long bra things from the bridal shops. 

I worked at VS for 3.5 years and brides would come in all the time.  The best we could offer them was the very sexy push up strapless.  It's the best that is low enough and the cups don't go up high either.  I would just go to the bra wardrobing center and say I want to try on all the strapless bras.  Just see which feels best for you.  I would have two different people measure you.  You won't believe the ding bats that I used to work with that had no idea how to measure properly even though I would train them multiple times.  Just say, I've gotten a couple of different measurements before, since it's my wedding day, I want to make sure it's right.  I would prefer maybe a manager double checking it.

I am also not wearing any undergarments besides a pair of undies.  It is going to be HOT, and my dress is going to feel really hot, so I am not willing to add any more layers!   However, they are putting cups in my dress so that I have a little boost of boobage!

We got manis/pedis at Nails La Vie - it is right by Kahala Mall. It is a newer place and very clean, and could handle the 4 of us! We were able to make a reservation too.

My dress had thicker straps but I didn't want to worry about a bra showing. Initially I wasn't going to wear a bra, and had cups sewn into my dress. The cups were really awkward and did nothing for me. I ended up getting one of those stick-on bras from VS for low-neck/backless dresses. I didn't need it specifically for that but I liked that it stuck on (even through the sweat!) and I hardly noticed it was there. Gave me the support I needed without being uncomfortable!

For nails I just randomly walked into a place at Ala Moana shopping center, I think it was called Nails L'mour. It was alright, nothing particularly special.

For undergarment, I kinda went a little overboard here. Usually I never wear anything strapless plus I had lost weight after my first fitting and you could see down my dress...I got super insecure about it. Luckily my seamstress advised me on what to get. added silicon inserts (they look like clear chicken cutlets, purchased from Jo-Ann fabric store) and I taped myself in with dress tape (Maidenform Stay Put Fashion Tape, purchased from Kohl's). I think it's better to be safe than sorry in this department! I also bought a slip and a pair of spanx but didnt end up wearing em.

Note that it took me forever to tape myself in properly in the dress, so if you use dress tape, do allocate extra prep time for that!
