Cupcakes...YUM-O!

So Ladies...
I was toying with the idea of making my own cupcakes for
the at home reception. Not only will it save me some $$$
but it's to prove my mom wrong that I can actually bake and
make it look good.

My attempt so far: Pina Colada Cupcakes with Coconut
Vanilla Pudding filling and Butter Cream frosting.

What do you think? (sorry for the crappy cellphone pictures)

Ok, they look great and also sound great!  Now I'm hungry...boo.  With that said, how big is your AHR?  I would just caution you that the runup to the AHR can be fairly hectic too, with last minute things like seating assignments & table numbers (if you have them) so be careful what you sign yourself up for.  If you have a very laidback gathering with few 'details' to worry about, then you should be OK!  We just found ourselves drowning with hosting / greeting guests / last minute details, etc.

They look awesome but I can't really say that you should go with them without tasting them first. Will you FedEx me some? Haha Juuuussst kidding. Kind of.

I agree with Tanq, if it's a small and/or laid back gathering I say absolutely, go for it! But if it's a larger gathering or there isn't much time between the DW and AHR, it's probably worth going with a cupcake baker instead.

We're getting ours from Georgetown cupcake, it's fairly cheap $1.95 per cupcake, there's no cake cutting fee from the venue, and it's YUMMY! :)

    Tanq-
The AHR is going to be super laid back. Nothing formal to it at all. It's more of a party than anything and the guest list will be about 120 ppl. So I'm not doing anything like seating charts and what-have-you. Our AHR will be on Cinco De Mayo complete with Taco cart guy, margarita machine and nice cold Dos Equis. We will be home from Hawaii for a week before the AHR, so I think the cupcake thing is do-able.

Cryssv-I'll send you over the receipe when I get a free moment. :)

They look great!  And can be mass produced.  So ummm I'm down the street can I taste test?  You can leave them in a box at a predetermined park bench too...  ;-)
