I just found out that I can request a copy of my marriage certificate online (State of Hawaii website), instead of waiting 3-6 months for the original certificate. You can always send in the so-called "blue form" to request a copy, but now you can request it online for $10.00 + $1.50 = $11.50. The extra $1.50 is worth it to me. I just ordered it today, so I will let you know how long it takes to receive it. I already received a confirmation email saying that the "record has been located" and will be send out via U.S. mail. So hopefully it is much quicker than mailing it in

Here is the website:

[QUOTE]For the record, it didn't take anywhere near 6 months for us to get a certified copy of our marriage certificate last August. More like 2. And we didn't pay extra to expedite. It looks like this this website just offers you the ability to order online a copy of a certificate that already exists (birth, marriage, death, etc.). When you're newly married, the form that you submit has to be sent to the Hawaii central records location to be processed, then copied, stamped certified, and sent out to you, so it takes time (esp. when you get married at a peak season for them, I'd guess).
