AHR

Hey girls, what all Hawaiian aspects are you bringing back for the reception?  I'm trying to figure out a few more things to add to it, so give me some inspiration!

I'm no help.  Nothing is being reused, including the color scheme.  Starting over FOR THE LOSS.

Us too!  Yum!  We're also having pineapple upside-down cupcakes for our cake.  I really wanted to have something hawaiian for our favors, but FI wants mini whisky bottles, because he's British :P  We're having our AHR at an asian restaurant and they have some hawaiian pupus that we're having too!

I am not proud to admit this...but I have just started this week even thinking about our AHR. We are doing it at our house and I am having it catetered.

I am wanting to to do some Hawaiian aspects. I found a recipe for Hawaiian Lemonade plan to spike with some vodka.

TashaK24 where are you getting the cupcakes?? Sounds wonderful.

Everyone: please share any other ideas. I will officially let all of you plan the AHR for me.

TashaK24 -- those cupcakes sound deeeelish! Great idea! We are having food stations and are having a Hawaiian station, a southern comfort food station, and a New England station among others to incorporate all of the places we've lived together...it's quite the variety!! Haha..I'm excited..I've had more fun planning the AHR than the actual ceremony!

ME FIRST!  :D  Ours is in 2 weeks.  We have 325 guests as of today.  35 outstanding invitations.  WTF were our families thinking?  Sigh.

Our sign in book will be a photobook our of wedding photos with lots of blank space (actually 2 books because the families don't want their guests to wait all night to sign).  We'll also show a slideshow which includes some wedding photos.  And we'll repeat the same first dance.  Otherwise, we decided to stay away from the Hawaiian theme because I just couldn't figure out how to pull it off without things being too casual given the somewhat formal nature of the AHR.

My favorite cupcake place in Seattle (Trophy cupcake) actually has them as one of their usual flavors and it's mine and FI's favorite that they do so it totally fits :)

Definitely making Mia Tias for the reception.

I am going to have parasols line the hall with lights behind them to light up.

I am doing some shells and starfish aspects on the tables, possibly.

I am also going to have some wedding pictures at the reception.

Hawaiian food, drink and music. We are doing our signature wedding drink which is based on other tiki drinks. We are asking ppl to dress in vintage Hawaiian and the "photo booth" we will have set up will have Hawaiian props. Also going to being back macadamia nut kisses to give to everyone.
