A Hawaii Wedding

Hi all,
I stumbled across this website earlier today, and was looking for some advice.  They sound like wedding planners, but I wasn't quite sure.  We're thinking it might be a easy solution to trying to plan this from afar.  Has anyone used them before??  Were they any good/worth it??  Thanks

Kendra

When I was doing my research for a wedding planner I didn't come across them but that doesn't mean anything.

Hiring a wedding planner is definitely the way to go if you can't get out there prior to the wedding to coordinate everything yourself. For us, the first time we'll ever be in Hawaii will be two days before the wedding. We chose our coordinator because he was the fastest to respond of all of the coordinators that we contacted, and he also had one of the best prices.

All I suggest is that you shop around and find someone that you feel comfortable with :)

I actually started out with them and cancelled. They were ok to work with. The did respond pretty quickly. If you want a really hands off approach and want to just show up they are for you.

They want to control all of details. They wouldn't even let me speak to our officant until 15 minutes before the ceremony. When I changed my ceremony site they planned to charge me extra. They also quoted me $500 for chairs and I would have to clean and set them up. I found someone for $110. I actually found it was better prices going it on my own. I did end up hiring a day of coordinator. I am much happier and got all of the details I wanted.

    Hope this helped.

Totally.  I really want a day where I can just show up (think resort in Mexico with a 20 minute checklist the day before), but I would like to have some say in where and photography.  Cake, don't care, no dance, maybe a luau for us, small dinner.  Who are you using for your day of coordinator?  I'm not really sure where to start with everything.

I am using Diana from Oahu Weddings. She is great. I didn't pay for a full wedding coordination since I am only using her day of for the wedding. She offers multiple packages. She is helping set up the ceremony site and clean up. She is also dealing with keeping track of the vendors that day. She recommended an officiant.

We are have a dinner following the wedding/no receptions as it is only my family attending. No cake we are actually doing a "donut cake" simple and kid friendly.

It can seem a little overwhelming at first. The girls here have lots of great ideas and can be a great help. The location brought everything together for us. Happy planning!
