Over a month and still no photos :P

So, the wedding was over a month ago and we STILL haven't gotten photos back from our photog, should I be annoyed?  They told us 3-4 weeks "but probably less than that!" and I got an email last weekend from them saying it'll just be a few more days.  We never got the sneak peak they promised us either!  Ugh, getting seriously annoyed, just had to vent.

Nope, you're not alone!  We've been waiting almost 2 months for ours (but that's the processing time our photog told us to expect).  

It's difficult to wait, but it's quite usual for photogs to take a lengthy turnaround time...  Photogs take tonnes of photos from your special day and they have to go through all of them to select the best ones and then there's the editing process (adjusting color, contrast, etc.).  It's quite a creative process!  Plus, they have lots of other weddings and jobs can build-up.  Same thing goes for videographers...

In fact, I would get worried if my photog turned over my photos tooooo fast!  ...because that might be an indication of how little time is devoted to the editing process.  Here's a website I read from another board, which is helpful:

It's really tough to wait, but have faith in your photog!  If you liked her portfolio, you want your photos to turn out just the same style and quality, so give him/her room for the creative process.  In our case, my uncle took tonnes of photos (and pretty good ones too), so I haven't been left completely hanging without anything to look at from the wedding.  But I CAN'T WAIT to see the professional ones, which will have a different and artistic feel from what guests would've taken.

Ugh I'm sorry! I'm sure this is so frustrating -- I know I will be so anxious to see our photos once we get home from the honeymoon.

Doesn't Shawn Starr take like 4-5 months to get them done? I always remember thinking how much I love his work, but dang does it take a long time to get it! Worth it in the end though - he does some amazing stuff.

4-5 months?!  Whoa!  It better not take that long!

I totally get that it takes time to edit and retouch wedding photos, I guess I'm more just annoyed that they keep telling us it'll be soon and then nothing.  If they had originally said it could take 4-6 weeks I wouldn't be as annoyed :P

Oh yeah, no, you're totally in the right to be peeved. Barring some strange circumstances out of their control (like family issues or health problems), they shouldn't be stringing you along like this.
