Event Coordinator in Maui

Hello Brides,

I'm getting married in Maui at Olowalu Plantation next Aug.12,2012. I've been searching for an event coordinator. My top runner are Your Aloha Wedding and Cherished Wedding. Has anyone worked with these event planners? And does anybody else have other suggestions.

Are you looking for full or day off coordination? I really like my coordinator...no one else has used her on this board thus far..her name is Erica and her company is called Couture Events. She is a sweetie and charges a flat fee. I booked her over 2 years ago so i'm not sure what her packages are like now but when i booked i received unlimited communication throughout the entire planning process including full day of coordination. I hired Kara from Your Aloha Wedding for ceremony only at Olowalu next Sept. She has been great so far and is really organized. Her reception pricing was too much money for our group of under 50 so we didn't hire her for that. I'm going to meet with her next week on Maui and can give more info then. Another sweet lady is Cherise from The Perfect Maui Wedding. Her website is outdated but if u look her up on facebook you can see so many amazing weddings. She is really nice! My best advice is to speak with each one on the phone and see who is able to catch your vision the best. Who do you feel the most comfortable with, who is willing to do what you need, and who is in your budget. Beware some coordinators charge a 20% fee for the vendors they book on your behalf, others like Kara charge a flat rate up front. HTH!!

I used Cherise with Perfect Wedding Maui and she is awesome.  She is very organized and everything went off without a hitch.  I would hire her again in a second!

I am working with Lori Lawrence. She charges a flat fee for the ceremony and reception and works at Olowalu all the time. She is super sweet and has great ideas and has recommended some great vendors. My only complaint so far is that she is a bit slow in responding to email so it is usually best to call her if you need something quickly.

I know other knotties have worked with her and loved her as well.

I was married at Olowalu as well and used Lori Lawrence with Tropical Maui Weddings. The day of my wedding, she managed absolutely everything - I didn't have to worry, I just had fun and enjoyed my day. I would hire her again in a heartbeat. She is so friendly and organized and has great relationships with the HI vendors...lots of good ideas and suggestions for things I wouldn't have thought of too.

I also used Lori Lawrence for my wedding at Olowalu and she was amazing and everything turned out perfectly and I was relaxed the whole time I highly recommend her

I was working with Kara from Your Aloha Weddings before I switched my wedding to Kauai.  She was AMAZING for the time that I worked with her.  She had great ideas and was quick to respond to me.  I was very sad to move islands because it meant that I wouldn't work with Kara anymore.

I think she is pretty amazing as well. I have never spoken to her yet. But she is very propmt at emailing me back. I'm geting all a lot of opinions and I think I'm confusing myself even more. I'll have to call Kara and see how she's like.
