Who to tip and how much?

Hello all- I'm wondering if somebody could help... I'm from rainy Manchester in England where we don't tend to do much tipping and so I was looking for some guidance please... We are having a wedding co ordinator, a photographer and obviously a officiant- how much should we tip? Thank you in advance for your help x

  • I'm wondering the same thing. Tipping in my area is fairly low so I would never want to under-tip. What about hair stylist and MUA as well?

  • Someone posted this link a year or so ago and it had some helpful tips: http://www.frugalbride.com/tipping.html

  • I've gone back and forth on this myself. I know some ladies haven't tipped and just paid what they are charged. When I look at how much I am paying for hair I don't even want to tip because I feel like I am already paying more than enough. Our venue/cake/catering already has an automatic tip. That just leaves MUA and officiate. I know it's bad etiquette to tip your officiate so I won't do that. I probably won't tip the MUA, unless she goes above and beyond, since I'm not tipping for hair. Ok, I've made my decision. I'm only tipping the venue/cake/catering since it's written into the contract for 18%. I'll send all of them thank you cards after the wedding.
  • I agree with Kimmy...we are having a hard time wanting to tip when some prices are insane.  Id say 35% of our vendors include a tip anyways...like our caterers.  I think it will come down to the actual wedding day...if they go above and beyond what the "contract" says, we may throw something extra in.
