Just getting started on planning a Maui wedding..

I am in the beginning stages of planning a destination wedding in Maui. I am looking more of a golf course setting than a beach. I have a travel agent looking into some things for me, but I thought I would check here for additional resources!! Any information that can be provided on cost or locations would be helpful. At this point I am not sure where to begin creating a budget because I don't know airfare, hotel accomadation or ceremony average fees... I feel kind of dependent on the travel agent at this point...

Thanks!

  • The makena beach and golf resort is where we stayed when we got married and their grounds are amazing!
  • Gannon's sounds like a perfect fit for you!  The grounds are gorgeous, you can still see the ocean, and it's not on the beach.  Take a look at it online, it's beautiful!

  • Yep, definitely consider Gannon's for that expansive grass feel - it's nested near the Emerald Golf Course.  Makena Beach and Golf Resort is also beautiful.

A bride earlier this week posted a phenomenal venue:

I do throw my hat in with Gannons, I was looking at that place but opposite of you I wanted it closer to the beach.  But their grounds are gorgeous.
  • Check out shangrilaevents.com, they have an excellent special going on... also orchid wedding planning seems very reasonable. If your curious about wedding planners...

  • We are getting married on the beach but having our reception up the hill at Gannon's. At first I wanted to have a more lawn/garden feel but the more I thought about it being on the beach appealed more to us. Gannon's is perfect because you can still have the beach option. Plus side  Susan has been great to work with.
