Maui Wedding Venue

I am newly engaged and just starting my search for a venue in Maui.  We want a fairly casual wedding and are going to have 50 guest or less, and would really love something beachfront, but not on the beach.  The idea of a hotel/resort where everyone can stay and the wedding planner is part of the deal, sounds great....any thoughts on this? We are not going to be able to afford a scouting trip, so any recommendations woudl be great.  Right now I am looking at the Aston, The Makena Beach Golf Course and Resort, The Sheraton Maui, or Hotel Wailea.  Anyone gotten married at any of these places?  Oh yeah, looking for a budget deal too!

We are not Getting married at the makena beach and golf resort but we are getting ready there and doing photos on the grounds. It has been great working with their wedding coordinator. I'll be back in 2 weeks and can give you a review on the place then.

We've decided on the Sheraton Maui as well - but we're not doing the reception there.  Looking at going to David Pauls Island Grill.

Olowalu is a private beachfront property if you are concerned about privacy. I love Olowalu Plantation House for that reason. That's the only suggestion I have since I'm not planning a hotel wedding.

I have planned other events at hotels and I must say that it is very easy to work with the on-site coordinator especially since everything is there for you. For Olowalu, you have to bring everything in, but for 50, it shouldn't be too bad.

Good luck and I hope you find the perfect place to have your wedding! :)

What about restaurants, lilke Merrimans in Kapalua, or Gannons and Mulligans on the blue in Wailea.  I would check them out, also what about the Mai Tai lounge in Lahaina, roof top events.  Good luck!
