Wedding Coordinator

Hello! I am thinking of hiring a day-of-coordinator for our destination wedding and am just wondering how many consulting hours you used/required for your weddings. Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

Thanks =)

    This is a pretty open ended question.  It's really hard to answer without knowing more about what you'd like for your coordinator to do.  Day-of-coordinators are less common for this bunch on TK.  We tend to either have no coordinator, or a full service coordinator.

    We did a mix.  We hired a full service coordinator but only used her to book a few elements like the marriage license appointment, chairs, tables, cake, dance floor etc.  The major vendors we chose on our own (even though her fee would have covered this too).  We exchangd 49 emails total (including ones sent in either direction) including final copies of all executed contracts, questions, etc.  We also spoke on the phone for probably a total of 30-45 minutes over 4 months.

    For true day-of-coordination, I've heard of places like Belle Destination Events offering a 30-minute and 1-hour consultation ahead of the event (something like that) followed by day-of-coordination.  I think their quote was above $2000 for that service.  I didn't look for or run into any other day-of-coordinators.

    We had full service soi it was 100+ monthly calls, et. etc.   Ou WC did have some day of packages for DIY brides that included 4-6 hours in pre-planning then wrap up started at either 60 or 90 days which was in addition to the consullting time
