Pls help me w/our Groomsmen attire!

Hi everyone, I'm getting married in May and we haven't chosen the attire for my fiance nor groomsmen to wear.  We don't want to wear tuxedos.  We are getting married in a church and then having an outdoor reception afterwards.

The problem is that we don't want to spend too much money because one of the groomsmen has financial issues and is already making the trip to Hawaii.  We thought we could rent suits from Men's Wearhouse only to learn that they only rent tuxedos!

We'd love something semi-formal but light, such as a khaki suit...does anyone have any suggestions for affordable groom and groomsmen attire appropriate for a Hawaii wedding? Thanks in advance!

Do a search for linen suits.  They are sale a lot of times at dept stores as well!  Also, Mens wearhouse has deals where FI bought one suit and got another free.  If you do the whole purchase together, then you can split the amount between all of the GM's making it a lot cheaper.  Right now I believe it's buy one get one for 100.  Someone on the DW board said that belk had some good suits for cheaper as well.

You could also go the khaki pants and dress shirt route.  Mens wearhouse has linen pants for 30 bucks.  A ton of different options.  I know a girl who got shirts from Express to go with whatever pants they already had.  Does someone else have a wedding near by yours?  One of GM's wedding is a month after ours.  We were able to get the suit we needed for his through the MWH deal with the suit for our wedding plus the shirts through deals for both weddings as well.

You def can make it cheap without making their outfits look "cheap".

My H got an affordable tan colored suit from JC Penneyin early summer. It ended up being too hot to wear the jacket, so he wore the slacks and a cream colored shirt during the ceremony.  I think it ended up looking great.

The groomsmen wore their own khaki pants, and H bought them all matching cream colored button-up shirts that had leaf embroidery - also affordably priced from JC Penney.  Pics in bio.

FYI - linen pants will wrinkle really easily, and IMO are a more casual look than regular khakis.  You may decide to go that route, but check them out to make sure it's the look you want.

We got our suits from Macys.  FI chose a medium gray Lauren suit with a pinstripe...not too light and yet also not charcoal.  Retailed for $500, and after the typical coupons & sales it ended up being around $125.   FI found the suit in store, then went online & cleaned out the inventory with all the coupon codes, ebates, etc.  :D

Thanks for your reply everyone!  We went to check out Men's Wearhouse and they are having a special Buy One Suit Get the 2nd Suit for $100.  We found a grey linen suit that looks nice because grey looks better than tan/khaki on my FI and it's linen so hopefully a little cooler than chino or khaki. My only concern is that linen will get super wrinkly and will not look nice in the photos.  The salesman said that it's a heavier linen that doesn't wrinkle as easily as regular linen - not sure if I totally believe him because, after all, it's linen and linen wrinkles.  Does anyone have experience with linen suits for the FI and groomsmen and how prone they are to getting wrinkled?
