What would you do?

Hi ladies,
It's been forever since I posted on here, I hope everyone is doing amazing!!
As some of you may know my DH and I were married at Olowalu Feb 8th and the photographer I hired has a TAT of three months.
My contract states a completion date of May 8th and I guess I just assumed I would receive my pics by that date but its now Feb 19th and I still haven't received them ugh;(
I contacted my photographer on the 8th and he said he had sent them out and to contact him a few days later if I hadn't received them. So I emailed him a few days ago to let him know that I hadn't got them and for him to double check the address he sent it to and his response was " yes thats the right address and well sometimes it takes 3 weeks for mail to get to Canada".
I had sent many cheques to my WP and know that it never took longer than a week or so to get to her which makes me think my photographer sent the photos after the 8th.
It was hard enough knowing that I had to wait three months for this pictures, but now were at almost 3 and a half months which I think is WAY too long.
At this point, Im so frustrated I dont know what to do. Should I just suck up this delay and wait it out? He did say that if I never do get the package he would send me a new one, but I highly doubt the mail is lost, I think he just sent it out late.
What would you do? Should I email him back and tell him I'm disapointed? If so what would you say?
Thanks in advance for any responses;)

Re: What would you do?

  • Are you waiting on prints or digital files? If he has a website you should ask him to zip the folder and upload the file for you to download. Most web hosts give a ton of storage these days so that isn't an unreasonable request. I always provide files online to my clients as a more "green" approach anyway unless specifically requested otherwise.

    Hi Brea!
I'm waiting for digital files. He's mailing me out a hard drive with all the images. Im going to ask him if he would be willing to zip me the pictures in the meantime but I still want the hardrive so I have a backup of all my files.
Ugh Im so annoyed that Im still waiting for my pics, and feel slightly mislead. He should have a warning on his website that states tats for international orders are more like 4 months not 3;(
    Thanks for your reply;)

  • Um, I feel your pain....not on the photos, but our wedding video was supposed to take 4-6 months TOPS. And guess what? I didn't get it until a full year and 2 days after my wedding. I was beyond furious. There should be a clause in these contracts regarding timing, it's a helpless feeling when you are trying to be patient and give them the benefit of the doubt. I do know that sometimes when I mail birthday packages to my family in Canada, it does take about 2 weeks for it to get there. Paper mail is faster. So maybe give it a few more days. Sorry, I know it's so frustrating!!

Hun, thanks so much for replying;) Muah!
I cant believe you had to wait a full year for your wedding video, what a nightmare!! Why was it sent to you so late? Thats unacceptable!
I contacted you know who again today and he's going to put a new package in the mail this time by UPS so we can track it if it gets lost.
I so hope the wait is worth it!!
    xx
