Oahu Brides- Beach Homes/Estates

He officially put a ring on it! Laughing

Now here comes the planning. Any B2B of former Brides please help me! ISO of Beach House or Estate (something not so pricey). I think my budget would be $6k with a max of 50-60 people.

I'm using Tanioka's and also need help finding tables, chairs, utensils, dinnerware, etc.

I also just emailed Aloha on the Rocks. I'm hoping they don't cost an arm and a leg.

Any help or advice is very appreciated. Looking forward to your posts. Kiss

$6k would include venue, food & drinks, and hopefully the rentals on chairs/tables etc.

    Yay congrats!

-Vrbo.com is where we found our house rental.
-Royal Party Rentals is where we're getting all our chairs, dishes and utensils  ($~600) Charlotte is super quick responding via email and is really professional. Other companies were so slow to work with or get quotes from.
-We're renting a speaker system to hook our ipod up to through Custom Audio, inc. ($75)
-We're buying all our own alcohol on base and not having a bartender

Caiandcullen was an Oahu bride and her bio has some good info too. HTH, good luck and happy planning :)

Depending on the type of plates, etc you want to use you can go the route of Costco like I did (we used Masterpiece plates and Costco clear plastic utensils, plus Vanity Fair napkins). OR you can rent them with your tables, chairs, etc.
We used JMJ Rentals because Accel wouldn't do a Sunday wedding, but I don't think I asked them about plate/utensil rentals. I know that Accel rents them.

I found that Aloha on the Rocks was really really really good for their price and they did an amazing job. We were extremely happy with them. They included a lot in their price as well (sodas, mixers, cups, straws, beverage napkins, etc).

    Hope that helps!

ETA: Also, are you set on Tanioka's? We were quoted around $17.50/person. For the same type of menu (and a little more food) we went with Yama's Fish Market for ~$13.50/person. It may not be a big cost savings for you, but we had 200 people so it made a huge difference for us. Both have amazing food, though, so I don't think you could go wrong with either!

I used JMJ Rentals as well and they were amazing! They even gave me a discount because I was on a tight budget (10% off everything) and were so great to work with!

I think i have a list somewhere of all the private homes and estates that allow weddings. I'll have to find it and send it to you. I literally reserached for MONTHS and found several homes, but ended up choosing to have it at a hotel. There was this really cool compound over on the windward side that had 3 houses, a chapel, a pool, etc and fit up to 20 people.

Diana are you talking about the Plantation House?

I actually just went there yesterday to deliver a cake for a rehearsal dinner. I never knew it was there and it is gorgeous! I guess there are three houses you can rent, a huge lawn and a pool. I have to look it up online because it seemed like a hidden jewel!

It's called the Kaaawa Plantation and as I look at the website, it still looks awesome to me. If I would've known that half of the people I invited would've actually come, I'd have it here, it's beautiful

Try Waimanalo or Kailua vacation homes, they have lots of listings and prices!

Wait a minute!  Kaawa Plantation or Plantation House, it's called both.  Yes, I have been to that place, you could drive by and miss it!  It doesn't look like much on the outside but drive in and WOW!  Too bad I can't attach a photo, I have one around here somewhere, but you can see it online, as they say!

    Hi Diana,
I have been trying so hard to find a private home that will allow a wedding, it's not easy! Do you think you could send me your list too? Thanks so much!!
