AW / NWR - Got the keys!

About 24 hours ago, we just got the keys to our first place together.  It's a modest, simple 2 bedroom unit, but it's our first home together, and it's HOME.  We're sleeping on a mattress on the floor, but we have lots of booze and internet, so I officially consider it home

What a crazy, harrowing lending process.  For anyone else trying to get a home loan, I feel your pain.  We had bank related drama EVERY SINGLE DAY for the last 2 weeks in the run up to close, and even missed close by a day, due to their errors.  BLAH.  I'm just glad it's behind us now!

Yay and congrats!!!!  Home loans are a PITA but its over.  Woohoo!  Now its really time to make it your place.

LOL, no joke.  We literally have 2 bar stools for the counter, a mattress, cups, frozen pizza, and liquor.  I feel like I'm in college again!  Now to decide on a paint color...

Boo for bank drama for real-- our loan officer hasn't answered a single email since last Friday... I'm freaking out here, closing is next Friday!

Don't freak!  Our loan officer never returns my phone calls but was spot on in emailing.  Weird but I think he preferred talking to my FI.  Eh... I think we actually finally closed a day or two after the projected date. 

@Tanq:  hahaha memories of college living is classic.  So what colors are you learning towards?

So the place has all white walls right now, and slightly orange-toned woodwork, and black granite counters.  I was thinking of a very light gray -- one that has a bit of a brown tint to it.  I've seen it called Sandstone, Sharkey Gray, etc -- something along that shade. 

Here's the inside.  Couch / rug not ours, and actual wood is more brown less orange/red than here.

Here's an example of a similar color, maybe more gray less brown.

I like the color you picked, I think it would look great. I want to do something similar in the bedroom at our house.

Tanq I love the wood in your home!  The grey/brown would work nicely.  It would definitely pick up the wood accents and tie it all together.  I'm also digging the big windows, so much light coming in.

Thanks ladies!  Lyn, the windows are what suckered us in!!  And Brea, I say go for it.  I am actually thinking of the same shade everywhere, and then in the bedroom, doing a striped wall right behind the headboard with one shade darker, too.

Congratulations Tanq! This is wonderful news! Good luck on the decorating! The condo looks amazing. I love the kitchen and the living area. And the color choice is perfect!
