Hawaii

weather

Hi Hawii brides-
I'm from Pennsylvania and traveling to Maui next weekend with my husband. We haven't been away anywhere in 3 years since our wedding so this is a highly anticipated and much needed trip. So, I checked the 10 day forecast today.. and I see that it's sunny all next week and then come the weekend the forecase says SHOWERS. I have heard that it rains a little bit almost every day in Hawaii, but for the forecase to just say showers and not havea  sun, I'm assuming that isn't going to be good? thoughts? am I in for a wet vacation??

To be honest, I don't think you can rely on a weather report that far out, and even if it does rain, just drive over to another side of the island, but showers should pass...and even if it does shower, it's usually warm showers not cold...

    Hope that helps!

I agree - 10 days is still pretty far out so hopefully it'll clear.  The islands do tend to get bursts of rain / wetness as opposed to entire days of sustained rain, and the rain tends to be warmer.  My only recommendation is to be mindful of the rain on hikes -- some hikes have rocks that get very slippery with even a little rain, so step carefully.

FWIW, 10 days before our wedding it forecasted thunderstorms, and we ended up not having a drop of rain.  So, try not to worry yet!
