No contact from Wedding Coordinator

I have not had communication from my wedding coordinator in over a week.  I realize this is probably her very busy time, but she has not responded at all to my last two emails.  She normally has an auto response if she will be at a wedding and unable to be in contact.  She has been excellent at communicating with me since we hired her, which is why I feel like something is amiss.  I'm just a little nervous because she is helping us book the officiant (which we don't have yet.)  Our wedding is November 3, 2012 (4 1/2 months away.)
Am I being a little crazy here?  I haven't tried to call her yet, because I don't have anything that is super important to talk about, and don't want to bother her if she's swamped- but I really want to get the officiant lined up.  And- I have given her a $2,000 deposit!
Any advice ladies?
Thanks!

  • Just take a deep breath and take a step back. Just reread what you wrote and I think you' ll laugh a little. I know it can be stressful, but if you don't really have anything to talk about with her don't worry. I'm sure she's just very busy. Wait a few more days then just try again :) deep breaths

Deep breath taken. Thank you for nicely telling me to chill out. :)
  • Lol welcome :) I know it can be stressful, but I'm sure they want your business and they don't want to ruin their reputation. It will all work out :)
  • I can totally relate to this post. My wedding coordinator, who had a lot of great reviews about how quickly she replied the emails and how awesome she was, did not reply to my emails for more than one week already. I don't mind to book the vendors on my own, but she insists that she wants to book all of the vendors for me. It's totally fine for me, but I really hope to get all the vendors booked asap, and then I can concentrate on my work and other life obligations. I understand the wedding coordinator could get really busy sometimes, but it'll make me feel much better if she can at least let me know she may not be able to reply my email for a while.
  • This is their busiest season, you are dealing with Hawaii time, AND you're sending emails. Laughing I think the moment you choose to do contact via email instead of phone gives tells the vendor that your question isn't urgent.
  • she may just be busy. When were were interviewing WC they told us this was their busy season so response times take a little longer than usual as they are out of the office for events.

You are fine.  Wedding Coordinators attend weddings and do not sit at their desk all day during wedding season.  I would not be concerned at this point.
  • So yes...I was completely overreacting for no reason.  We are in very good shape.  Thanks to all of you ladies for gently letting me know I needed to chill out!
