Hair and Makeup trial session

Hi ladies,

So I'm just wondering how many of you actually had a trail session before the day of??  And did you have it at your home town or in Hawaii with the stylists that will be doing your hair and makeup on the day of?

I did one on island with my actual stylists for the wedding. Did mine the morning after we arrived so I had time to adjust if needed. Also, doing it in the morning gave me a good idea of how it would hold up throughout the day.

I'm doing my hair trial on Sunday morning, we get married on Monday evening.

We were fortunate enough to do a scouting trip a year before our wedding.  We did an engagement session with our photog and I also did a trial with my hair and makeup person too.  It was a great way to do a "test run" to see how everything came together...plus I got serious mileage out of the hair and makeup trial!  

My hair and makeup person actually changed things slightly on the day-off (i.e. slightly darker lipgloss, more lashes) and I had a hairpiece and jewelry, so at least I still felt/looked different from the e-session.  It was worthwhile and I'd highly recommend it!

I will be doing a hair trial a few days prior to my wedding.  I already have a very good idea of how i would like my make-up to look and Jessica Waite who will be doing my make-up is amazing so i didn't think a make-up trail was necessary....will not be doing any trails at home. HTH! J. :-)

My hair and makeup lady will be doing my trial a few hours after we fly in. Its on thursday and the wedding is saturday. I may reschedule it for fri morning to see how it holds & so i'll be cute for the rehearsal dinner.

I was lucky enough to have time to plan a "scouting" trip as as well. Here on the island now, wedding is next november. I plan to do a trial, if i like her I will book her, then do a second trial when we are here the week of our wedding (since it is a year and a half off now and my hair will be longer, hopefully). I think a week before is sufficient enough. Who are you using? I've been in contact with Kiss and Makeup Creations and they have been GREAT with communicating through email and phone! I did mine the day before the wedding because we had our welcome dinner luau that evening and had our photographer there too...wanted to get some use out the trial since it wasn't free

I'm doing one with my stylist on Maui two days before the wedding.  I am also doing one here with my stylist to play around with a few styles and see which one I like best.
