Not sure how many of you did this but our wedding coordinator suggested, instead of giving leis to our parents before the ceremony, surprising our parents by presenting them with leis during the ceremony.
Basically, after my husband and I exchanged our leis our officiant then called up each of our moms individually and then the dads individually and together my husband and I put the lei on them, thanked them, and gave them a kiss on the cheek. It was so much fun to see the surprised looks on our parents faces as they were called forward but they were beaming as they sat down. Plus when you hold the lei out for your parents it looks like a heart which makes for great pictures!
It was such a beautiful moment with our parents and I'm so glad we did it!
