Alternative to sparklers???

Thought i would create a new post as well...

Well it appears that the one thing i wanted for sooo long may not come to fruition so i may do this instead...wand with quadruple gold shimmer ribbon and bell. Hoping that the shimmer will show on the photos at night.  Not quite the exit i was going for but the best alternative i can come up with that is legal.

What do you ladies think??? Any other suggestions???

Thx. J. :-)

Thanks for starting the thread Maui! I think ribbon wands would be fun. Or maybe the traditional petal toss or bubbles? Would love to hear creative ideas too!

Is this for your exit at the end of the evening, or for the recessional at the end of the ceremony?  I *love* ribbon wands.  Just love them.

For the exit at the end of the evening, some other thoughts:
    - Tall taper candles with a paper hand protector?
    - Electronic flame candles
    - Lit lanterns (handheld or on the floor)
    - Glowsticks
    - Fiber optic wands

    For the ceremony recessional:
    - Dried lavender
    - Bubbles
    - Flower petals
    - Ribbon wands
    - eco-safe confetti

I am a big chicken when it comes to sparklers, or any kind of fireworks, but I am sorry it didn't work out for you.  I like the ribbon wands but not sure they would really show up at night.
There are a lot of differnt glow stick ideas out there.  There are also a lot of led items. What if you affixed a small led to the wands?  You could cover it with ribbon.  I have seen some that have very small batteries.  Just so you leave enough to turn them on.  Hmm, now you have me thinking. Let us know what you find.

that is actually really cute! it reminds me of the wedding dance from glee where they have their ribbons =)

i know someone brought it up but can't find the other thread on sparklers so i'm not sure if anyone answered the question... can you use the flying asian lanterns (think wedding from hangover 2) in hawaii??
here is a link to the flying lantern pics: http://katieebeee.blogspot.com/2011/04/floating-lanterns.html

Richnikki - i asked my wedding planner and in Oahu the sky lanterns are categorized as fireworks. SAD.
