Hello!!

Just wanted to say hello to you all.....My FI and I are eloping in Kauai in May of  2013...this is something new for us!!  We were going to do the whole "big wedding" but recently decided that we didn't want to go through the stress and aggravation of it.  So it will be the two of us and his parents.

We're going to be staying a week at the Wyndham Beach Villas on the East Coast and will be looking into having our ceremony at the Fern Grotto.  Any suggestions as to a nice dinner afterwards for us and his parents?  Oh and if anyone can recommend a wedding planner that isn't too overpriced I'd appreciate it too.

I'm sure I'll have a billion more questions as the days go by, so please be patient with me!!

Congrats and welcome! It has been years since I've been on Kauai, so I don't have any current suggestions for you... The only restaurants I can think of that would be nice would probably be Merrimen's or Roy's. All of my other suggestions are just local, super casual restaurants!

Welcome and Congrats. We are getting married on Maui so I can't really help with Kauai but there are a lot of brides her that can.

Welcome! I went to kauai in 2010 & loved it! Unfortunately we didn't go out to any fancy restaurants. I do remember reading in my kauai revealed book that the fern grotto isn't as nice as it once was, due to hurricane damage I think. We skipped it so i cant say first hand how it looks. Good luck planning!

I love Kauai and agree with the PP that Roy's and Merriman's a great pics for nice restaurants. We are going for a week after our wedding on Maui.

As a Kauai resident I would say the cutest restaurant on the eastside to me would be The Eastside. http://www.theeastsidekauai.com/ Super cozy, but the food is reasonably priced and delicious! Definitely not as upscale as Roys, Merrimans Upstairs, or Beach House, but all of those restaurants are on the southside and I'm not sure how far you are willing to travel from your wedding location.
