Thoughts on dress for Olowalu wedding

Hi knotties,

I'm hoping you could help since many of the past brides have gotten married on Olowalu.. I posted this on the Attire and Accessorites board, but would also like to get your feedback on wedding gowns. My concern is that a lace dress might be too warm for Olowalu in June, so if you have any insight as to the weather/humidity/etc. please share! Or if you have any suggestions for different dresses, please let me know! I've looked at chiffon dresses, but am in love with lace...

My dress is the Oleg Cassini dress and I am wearing it for my Feb 20 wedding in Koolina! It is an amazing dress! It is not too heavy in my opinion, and is so romantic and elegant! :-) I bought the light pink Vera Wang belt to put on it, and it really completes the dress! Good luck with your decision!

Obviously you don't want to be sweating your tail off on your wedding day but you don't want to be wishing the whole day that you were in another dress! I'm getting married in August at Olowalu and although my dress isn't the lightest going around, its not heavy satin either. I think that you just have to be reasonable, know how your body reacts to warm temperatures and maybe be sure to have some ice cold water on hand just in case! Congratulations and good luck!!

June is not too hot... our hottest months seem to be in late summer/fall.

I got married at Olowalu this past November.  It was about 80 that day (which seems to be pretty average.)  My dress was chiffon (Sottero and Midgely, Clarice) but had a lining. I really was hot underneath it, and extremely sweaty! When we got back to the hotel and I finally took my dress off I had to shower before I put on any lingerie!
I wouldn't change it though, I loved my dress and I knew that could be the case.  It's warm and humid in Maui, comes with the territory.  You will be okay though.  Just wear what makes you feel amazing!

I vote the Allure dress! So pretty!

I wore Watters Pasadena at my Olowalu wedding last month. I absolutely loved my dress and didn't notice it being heavy...

I got married at Olowalu in June....was mid 80s....a bit warm during the ceremony at 4pm but when the sun started going down it was fine. The giant banyan tree gives off a ton of shade on that side of the lawn in the late afternoon.Get whatever you want!

Love the Cassini. Also, anything sleeveless/strapless may help in the heat. I have a tendency to sweat (in the heat, the cold, any temp really), so I worry about things like that, lol.

I was married at Olowalu in mid April and it was warm. The lawn where they usually set up weddings is pretty open with no shade so if it is sunny, it could be hot. 

With that said, pick the dress you love.

Thank you all so much for your responses, feedback, and advice! I can't express how helpful everyone on this board has been in helping me plan my wedding.

After trying on the dresses, I decided on the Oleg Cassini!! The Allure didn't fit me as I thought it would have...

amwong22 - Dress twins!!! How are you planning to accessorize? I'm looking for ideas, but am only coming up with a three strand pearl necklace... not sure about dangling earrings or pearl studs.

jenmags - The Allure was about $1100 at the boutique but I found that there have been some listed on preownedweddingdresses.com and recycledbride.com that have sold for less.
