are coordinators willing to work with other photographers?

Hi Ladies, those of you who have worked with Mauid forever are they willing to work with other photographers on the island? 
they have a simple package that doesn't include a photographer that I would like but was unsure if they would use another photographer from the island considering they have their own.  I have a photographer in mind the Photographers of Hawaii and their pictures are beautiful. Photographers of hawaii works independently (i think) but also works with  coordinators from Maui Weddings (which I've been emailing and speaking with) but their prices are so much higher.

I think the best people to answer the question are the coordinators.

Most coordinators are okay with you hiring outside vendors. But, (and this is just gut instinct), if their fee covers photographers who work within a certain price range, and you want photographers who are more expensive than that, then you're not going to get the more expensive photographer at a cheaper price, KWIM? Ultimately, all you can do is tell them who you want and ask them for a quote. Alternatively, you could always ask for a package that doesn't include a photographer and see how much it would cost for you to hire the one you like without the intermediary of a coordinator.
