Hi Ladies,

Who does anyone reccommend for a photographer or DJ in Maui???  Affordable is key!!!  But also amazing!  Im not asking too much :) am I???

Let me know your recs.

    ETA - Alyson beat me to it.

    Define amazing?  And affordable? 

    DJ Dan Viola was our DJ.  LOVED him!  He's not super hip like someone you'd expect to play at a club -- more of your more "social events" type DJ+MC.  He was willing to work with us to meet our budget.

    Our most affordable option was DJ Mats of 808 Vibe productions.  Super low rate for 7 hours of coverage + lights, and she has a very laid back Hawaiian vibe.  More of a DJ than an MC.

    DJ Boomshot, Ace Beats, and DJ Del Sol are a few others that we talked to & I think I heard of from the forum here.

    As for photographers, forums favorites off the top of my head:
    - Joanna Tano
    - Kim Aihara
    - Anna Kim
    - Shawn Starr (from Oahu)
    - Mike Sidney
    - Gordon Nash

    No reviews as yet but we booked J. Anthony Martinez as our photog and DJ Boomshoot...i've heard great things about his dj'ing however his email response time is kind of slow. HTH! J. :-)

    thx for your responses ladies - amazing = amazing i dont know how else you would describe it -...super nice...great service...fun to work with, someone you would reccommend.
    Affordable : Good rates, still all of the qualities above...

    My photographer is Ben Pigao. He's from Maui and based in Portland. I love his style! It's definitely "us." His website: benpigao.com. His prices are also very reasonable! Even though we are flying him in, total cost is still cheaper than what most photogs on Maui are charging.

    As for our DJ, we decided to go with DJ Boomshot! We met with him last week on our scouting trip and we vibed with him really well. A little pricier than other DJs, but I think he'll be worth it!
