Leis from Costco

For those of you ladies who got leis for your wedding guests from Costco, did you order them  in advance or once you arrived on Island? If you ordered them in advance, how far in advance did you order?

We are getting married on Maui and would like to give each of our guests (13-15 people total) who are not in the wedding party or family a lei at the end of the ceremony as part of a receiving/greeting line.  I wasn't sure if I could just go to costco a few days before and order them or if I need to order them in advance.

Order them in advance. Contact the Maui florist and talk with her about when to do it.

Maui Floral is the vendor that Costco gets their leis from.  I had talked to them and they said to order a month in advance.  Be aware that there is an issue with the orchid supply and so they use spacers and fillers for their regular orchid leis.  Example of fillers could be kukui nuts, plastic pieces or other beads.

Any idea how much they cost at Costco?  Our florist appears to be quite expensive and I really wanted to do guest leis as well....

My understanding is that Costco leis are approximately $10 for 2 purple orchid leis.  But, weather conditions in SE Asia are impacting flower supply, so I would check closer to the date.  There might be other options, but they are more expensive.

I preordered the leis from"Maui Floral" the floral shop that services Costco. You can pick up the leis day of  the ceremony or the day before. The phone number is 808-878-1218

Just learned today that there is a shortage in Lei orchid blooms this year.  So wherever you order, order early to ensure you have them.<div>
