wedding colors

My wedding is August 20th and i am going back and forth between two color combos i like. I really like orange/pink (watermelon) together but then i also like black/pink/with white accents (Damask) but I am not sure if black dresses would look ok for August. What do you think?

Orange and pink are fun. When are you ever going to put those two colors together again? Damask is always in style and you could always do your bridal shower/bachellorette parties in those color scheme.

I like both, but do think the orange and pink would look awesome for a summer wedding. And putting the BM's is all black dresses is a great idea. You could always get colored sashes or bows for a splash of color in the photos. Besides, I am sure your flowers will be bursting with colors, so it will look great no matter what.

I think for August, watermelon and orange would be great. It would really reflect the season. I got married last August and our colors were watermelon and light yellow. I loved all the bright colors we used. Black could be used as dress colors, or go with a bright shade. My girls wore watermelon dresses and they loved them; yeah black dresses may be more practical for your maids to wear again, but I liked the big pop of color, and didn't want black as an accent. I also like the idea of using damask for your shower, or perhaps your rehearsal dinner. Good luck! I thought everything really fell into place once my color scheme was established. well i was going to watermelon dresses for the color combo pink and orange..if we did black and pink i was going to do black dresses with pink flowers.

Did you get you Tux and BMs dresses from Davids Bridal? I was just worried about the Watermelon (pink) colors not matching.

My girls did wear Watermelon dresses from DB, and the guys wore watermelon vests from Men's Wearhouse. The vest color wasn't an exact match to the dresses even though they are both "watermelon." It wasn't the biggest deal to me, they were close enough. Your groomsmen could wear silver or black vests and look great with the watermelon dresses. You could add a pop of color with the bouts. I also love the idea of khaki suits and ties, maybe even with a fun stripe or something. I tried to persuade my husband on this idea, but he wanted tuxes.

I agree with PP's! I think watermelon and orangs would look simply amazing for your August wedding!

I think watermelon and orange would be really fun for a summer wedding.  The colors are so bright, and there are a lot of things you could do with decorations.
