Park of Roses

Has anyone had their wedding/been to a wedding at the Park of Roses in May? I love the space, but our date is already set for May 19, 2012. I don't think roses bloom until June though, so I'm wondering if it would be pretty in May

I have been there many times, but never attended a wedding there. I honestly can't remember when the peak time for the roses is for sure, but if my memory serves me right I don't think it is until mid June or so.

The park is very beautiful on its own, so I am sure your wedding will be just fine and very picturesque in May. You should still be able to get some great photos as there are a lot of other plants, wildlife, nature areas that would make for some good photo backgrounds.

I shot a wedding there on May 15th. If you are doing it right in the middle of the park, by the fountain, it is very hot because there is no shade. Also, the roses were not open yet. There were a few towards the back of the park, but the bushes surrounding the ceremony were not open. It is still pretty there, even if it is just a lot of green. We ended up taking the couple towards the back for photos because the bride wanted flowers in her photos. I can email you some pictures that show the surroundings if you want.
