Bridgewater Conference Center or Scioto Reserve

Hey ladies! I'm newly engaged and in the process of reception site shopping. I went to Bridgewater Conference Center yesterday, and thought the ballroom was gorgeous! However, I haven't really heard anything in terms of reviews for them, and that makes me nervous. I was wondering if anyone knows anything about them.

Also, I went to Scioto Reserve Country Club and really liked it as well. However, it seemed more expensive per person than I was expecting, based off reviews. Does anyone know how willing they are to negotiate? The prices they gave me were around  40-50$ per person for just their food package, and the alcohol packages started around 20$ per person.

Re: Bridgewater Conference Center or Scioto Reserve

  • I'm working with Scioto Reserve, but I'm not sure they will negotiate much. We didn't try just because I think their prices fit with their venue. It is a gorgeous venue, and those food prices come with so much stuff... the actual meal, the cake for each person, a champagne toast for each person, etc. You could definitely find cheaper elsewhere, but Scioto Reserve has a certain feel to it, and that's why it's a bit more expensive. =)
  • I initially loved Scioto Reserve. However, their communication has been horrible so I decided against them. For the price I just felt it really wasn't worth the money. North Star in Sunbury is gorgeous and very reasonable.
  • I worked with Bridgewater a little over a year ago for a work function, and they were great.  They were really helpful in choosing a menu.  No complaints, but our event was much less complicated than a wedding.  However, I don't think I've ever heard anything negative about them.
