FI is taking over

This is probably the weirdest complaint ever but my FI is taking over almost all the creative elements for the wedding. We're working on Save the Dates, our wedding website and little mixbooks of engagement photos (for our moms) and I originally 'owned' two of the projects above. Now I'm out of all of them. What the crap? 

I know this is a dumb rant but I just had to get it out there. I guess I'll have to start working on other DIY projects to keep myself busy.

Its super cool that he wants to be involved in all of the above, but I know I love my DIY projects, and I would freak a bit if FI wanted to take over things like strassing my shoes! LOLWe haven't gotten as far as STDs and such yet.

Blah, I wish my FI would take over some elements! I told him to do the hotel block, 3 weeks ago, has not done anything! I guess that is ok, I will just have to do it myself!

My FI tries to be helpful, but mostly just gets in the way or thinks he gets in the way. Although, he has taken over some aspects of the wedding. It's rather annoying sometimes. haha

i know it's the weirdest thing in the world to be annoyed about. i love that he wants to be involved and he's an artist so he does great work on the design projects but i just want to have my hand in it too. like i said, i need to suck it up, kiss him on the forehead and thank him and go make bunting in the other room.

good call peach. i'm thinking as long as he keeps me involved i'm cool with him handling anything paper related (invites, stds) or web-related (website, making photo books online for the mommies, etc). i need to turn my creative energies to making decorations and buying things for the reception.

i'm embarassed with myself...

I had the same problem Owl!  I just wanted DH to sit back and let me make all of the major creative decisions, but he kept having opinions that he wanted me to take into consideration.  At one point I told him--can't you be like most other FI's and not want to be involved in the planning?

aww jenna. i heart you. thanks for the reassurance. my 'i want to be in control' monster is in rare form when anything wedding related is involved. oy!
