HELP!!! Wedding Venues!!

Ok so my wedding is June of next year. I know I have tons of time, but time flies! I am on a tight tight tight budget!! I am looking for a venue around Huntsville, Athens, or Decatur. We are hoping to find one that allows outside catering and is cheap cheap cheap.

Re: HELP!!! Wedding Venues!!

  • The lodge on Mtn Sano allows outside vendors, bring your own alcohol, and is 1600!! Did mention it has a gorgeous view?! :)
  • I would try the civic center and the park.
    Almost Mrs. Wedding Countdown Ticker
  • The Guntersville State Park lodge sets dates for brides two years in advance.

There is a pretty southern home in Athens that does weddings called Madelyn's in the Grove. I think Athens State University does as well. I've never seen The Cedars in Tanner but I found it on weddingmapper.com. Check that site out for any city that you have in mind.

Even if you are on a tight budget, it may be worth considering a venue that does it all. Sometimes they come out cheaper.

    Best wishes!

  • the princess theatre in decatur allows any catering of your choice and its $1000 if youre just using it for reception site.
  • Did you find a place yet?  Here are some ideas although I'm not positive on their cost:

    Burritt on the Mountain
    Botanical Garden
Historic Lowry House (it's an indoor/outdoor)
    Monte Sano Lodge
    Annabella at Cedar Glen
AM Booth's Lumberyard (more of a bar and grille feel with a courtyard)
    Mathews Manor
    Tate Farms
    Wills Creek Vineyards
    Gunter's Landing

Also, I know people who have used Big Spring Park.  They just needed to get a permit.  Depending on how many people you have, and if you don't mind strangers walking by, the park with the waterfall along the steps has a cute terrace right there behind the waterfall.

  • Joe Wheeler State Park lodge has large banquet rooms also.
